Goodbye 2006 - Hello 2007
What to say at the end of the year?? This year has been great in many ways and down right horrible in others. I hope 2007 has a little more good stuff and less bad stuff.
Any resolutions out there? I have a few - January just seems like a good time to start these. It is also easier to change eating plans when everyone else is too! Then we can all be sugar and white flour deprived together!!!! I am enjoying my last few days of Christmas chocolate before I clean up my act and start acting like an adult ;-)
May you all have a great evening celebrating the new year whether you're staying home like me or going out and partying till you drop.

Bye Bye Christmas
Tonight we are taking down the tree. It is kind of sad to see all the bright colours and lights go away. J-man kept pointing at the mantel as I pulled everything off and placed it in the boxes. Christmas is my favorite time of year and now I have to wait 11 months till I can do it again.
I am happy to be rid of the chaos that was this year's holidays though. I am SO peopled out. We have rented a few movies and are going to stay home tomorrow night and enjoy NO ONE! J-man had a better day today and actually slept till 6:45 so we're making progress in the right direction. His eye teeth are bugging him - and us ;-)

Marcy Leaves
Marcy is hitting the sky and flying home tomorrow. Boo hoo! I managed to not cry when I left tonight. She has promised to come back this summer! I threatened her if she didn't.
My Aunt and Uncle came into town with my two cousins today. So we hung out with them - had a little brunch, then a little tea and scone at The Clayburn General Store - we felt very British. I finally got to meet baby M. She was so tiny and cute. 3 1/2 weeks old and breaking hearts already. J-man was not so happy to have mom holding another baby. This is new and made me glad as he sometimes doesn't seem very attached to me - so self sufficient that little stinker.
We bought a new printer today - YIPPEE!! Our old one(which was a cast off from someone else) had finally given up yesterday. We've known it was going for about a year and we've been nursing it along. Yesterday it just munched up the paper and printed all over the place. We've been researching and waiting till it finally died. Then thanks to some Christmas money we picked one we could buy. Went into Staples to pick it up and the next higher up model was marked down $70 so it was even cheaper then the model we we're going to get(but with a few nicer options). So now I can scan all those nice teenage shots of myself onto here!!!
J-man has started to wake up at 6AM - which is killing us. I know some of you are ready to laugh at me but he used to sleep till 7AM on a bad day and 8-8:30 on a good day. We are so tired and the holidays have thrown our semi schedule out the window. We've tried feeding him more - in case he's waking up hungry, we've tried dressing him in warmer pj's to see if it's because he's cold. Tonight we are trying a smaller bedtime bottle to see if his diaper is too full - as he's busting through his diapers most mornings. So if this doesn't work I don't know what else to try - anyone got any tips? He is so miserable with the lack of sleep. Instead of having a afternoon nap he hasn't been making it past 10-10:30 before he is falling asleep. Then he sleeps 1-2 hours but around 5:30-6 he is NUTS. Sometime falling asleep on the floor or in someones lap and then not being ready for bed till 9-9:30PM. I am hoping being back at home and in our normal routine will help but if not I will be even crazier then before. HELP!
Leah - are you happy with the colour now or are you still not liking it? Yes I MSN - haven't done it in awhile so I reset myself up - lets get chatting! Sadly we are too tired to even think about going out on New Years and trying to get babysitting is murder. So I think we are going to order in food and watch a movie! Next year I'll throw a party and you are invited ;-)

New Look
Hey y'all - as my sister is known to quip these days. So I've changed the look here again - is it hard to read. I hate blogs where the print and background colours hurt your eyes. Let me know if that is the case. If you just don't like the new colours - well tough bananas!
Marcy and I went to Greek Islands today for a little souvlaki. Yum yum yum - then over to Superstore for milk - although we each took a little detour through Joe.
Not much happening that is of any interest - going to a wedding tomorrow - and I don't have a gift - rats I just realized that! Okay better run to figure that out.
Ooooohhhh my sister has announced that she may move back here to save up for grad school. Yippee - although she wants to go to grad school in the UK so it would be short lived. Just can't win with that kid!

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone! We are having a great time at my parents and I think I may have caught up on some sleep. It is great having 5 adults and one baby! A great ratio!!
J-man has been teething so he has been cranky but Tylenol has made him bearable. The kid has raked it in! I am not sure how we will drive home. We may have to take 2 trips ;-) I have so many pictures but I'll wait till we're home. J-man sleeps in the computer room at my parents so I'm limited in the time that I can access the computer.
Archie has been beside himself over J-man's toys and the fact that he isn't allowed to chew them. Between keeping J-man off the tree and the dog off the toys we are all very busy!
I got my ipod - so I am so excited to get grooving! I also got some self sticking crystals to bling it out! Yee haw!
Happy Birthday Jesus!

My sister has arrived
My sister made it in all the craziness that is flying during Christmas. Only she forgot J-man's Christmas present(which she was bummed about).
It is strange to see her in a way as she has grown up since she moved away. She is now an "adult" not a college student. She's way more assertive - kind of a go getter now. This is all good but strange as I have not been around her for the transformation. She also looks great - even after getting up at 4 am her time.
Anyway I'll try to post over the next few days but it will be busy (just for you Leah!)
So much to do tonight so I must run - Ry is giving me the evil eye about blogging when I said there was sooo much to do and I felt so tired! Non-bloggers just don't understand!!!

Lost and Found
Today J-man and I ventured into Costco(yes we are crazy).
We marched up and down aisles, throwing things at random into the buggy. J-man decided as we got to the freezer section that throwing things out of the cart was a super fun idea! So after crackers, stuffed monkey(named Monkey) and smaller items hit the floor he was given a firm warning not to mess with me! Finally all but Money ended up in the back of the cart - far away from those chubby little hands. There is only so much you can do to an 18 month old in the store!!
There were no lines ups at the tills(which is shocking!). I get out in the rain, get to the car and unload. It then dawns on me that Monkey is not in the cart anymore. Crap - the little man threw him at some point and I missed it!
So I marched back inside and start wandering the aisles at a record speed - which was not easy as it was just after 4pm - which is when it gets busy again. So I dodge people and their carts. I am now sweating as I hurry along (I am late getting to Lisa's now). No sign of Monkey - but my feet are dying(as I am wearing my yummy mummy boots) and I'm hot and flushed. I finally go to customer service which takes forever. Nope no monkey there but they give me a number to call later to see if it gets turned in.
I am sad but trudge back into the rain and to my car. J-man is jabbering at me in Jackanese (what we call his baby chit chat). So I was beyond late to go to Lisa's but being the forgiving friend she still invited me in!
Tonight I was sure Monkey was gone but I tried Costco just in case and 10 minutes before I called he had been turned in! I am now breathing a huge sign of relief and J-man will be very happy to have him back. Monkey got a four hour adventure in Costco - I hope it was fun!

Phew what a day
Today was CRAZY at work - why do these always happen when people are sick and on vacation. Had some loon repeatedly calling asking to talk to the CEO - ummmm yeah so not going to happen. "I'm sorry I don't have his direct line!" I reply politely! Arrrrr! I'll just transfer you where I already transferred you 6 times - see if you have any more luck there! I left home at 8 am this morning and arrived home at 6:45 pm. I realize many people work many more hours than that or do this everyday - but hey I am in banking for a reason! We don't work 12 hour shifts!!
I am so not cut out for this working 9-5 routine. I am a part timer! This place is killing me slowly! I know January will be lovely with half days 3 times a week but December is slowly turning us all in robots that got water on the circuit board!
Now I must go sleep or at least try and do nothing for an hour! Although the kitchen is a mess - heck with it - it will still be messy tomorrow!

Things that make you go hmmmmmm!
How is it that a child that cannot put a fork in his own mouth can open the one drawer that I can't?
I have a drawer that has all my craft punches in it. Because it is a drawer in a plastic stacking drawer unit when the drawers get heavy they pop out of the runners and get all jammed up. I can never get the drawer to glide open. I yank and jiggle and finally hit it a few times. Often it makes me so mad I use something else.
Some how though J-man can open the drawer and be chewing on the metal in record time. Go figure! Speaking of which he is currently munching on Santa and a pair of pinking shears gotta run!

You Tube - You Suck
I have been trying to get You Tube to work so that I can put - The Evolution of the Dance on here but it won't work. Perhaps tomorrow it will stop being stupid. Sometimes technology is more of a problem than a help!
J-man woke up at 4:30 this morning and has had a hard time sleeping all day - he is still awake right now(at 9pm) I think there may be another tooth on the way as he doesn't usually wake up in the middle of the night or have trouble going to sleep. Hello Children's Advil!
My sister comes in 5 sleeps - I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't seen her in a year! 5 sleeps, 5 sleeps!!!!
Tomorrow I am covering reception so I may try and blog at work - what else am I going to do all day?? Blah Blah Blah How may I direct your call? Actually it won't be too bad - I like it but sometimes because I am just filing in there isn't much to do. Luckily I am not doing clearing so my brain doesn't have to remember the hard parts ;-)
Could this post get any more boring? Sorry - perhaps tomorrow I'll get the energy to write something better - till then TTFN

Thank You and Ikea
Thanks for the comments my blogger friends. Feeling better today - although it is all still there - and probably will be for a while. There is something healing about saying(or blogging in this case) about whatever is weighing you down. It seems to take the negative power out of it. Tanya - thanks again for the email, Lee - thanks for kind words, Jennifer - not preachy at all - great advice, and Kerry - thanks and love you too (can't wait for your visit).
Okay so back to my crazy life!! Today we did a trip into Ikea. Expected it to be BAD! Sure enough we get there and there is a big SALE sign out front(great the place will be packed). So we are driving through the parking lot searching for a spot - we find a spot right near the exit(sweet!) Then we get inside and the elevator is right there and we can hop on. We get to the second floor - the next elevator opens right as we go to push the button(again - sweet!) We do a quick scan through - there are lots of people. We had to wait a bit for the elevator to go back Market Place. Find everything we are looking for - yippee! Then we make the plan for check out - Ry will take J-man to the as is section and hopefully he'll stay happy long enough for me to get through paying - but we got to the check outs and there was NO ONE in line!!!!!! So we zip through (have you ever had that happen????) Then we walk over to the elevator and ping the door opens before we can even hit the button. Then we hit every green light getting back to the freeway! Lougheed highway was busy but the traffic just parted for us (very Moses and the red sea!) Now that is what I call good shopping!!!

Feeling like crap!
Warning - angry post ahead - not my usual funny life - come back tomorrow for that!
Feeling a bit stressed. There are several things I have to deal with and well - I would rather stick my head in the sand and ignore them. Which I have been doing. Sadly I think I need to just deal with them. They are keeping me up at night and making me rather unhappy. Of course does anyone like dealing with stuff that hurts your feelings or makes you feel like crap?? Duh! No of course not - hence why I have been shoving it under the rug for the last 6 months.
So now I have to take it all out and figure out what I am going to do to make me feel better! Honestly I don't even know where to start! In a matter of weeks last spring I lost my job, lots of my friends, and my church. I am angry at the people who turned me into the scape goat for all their $^&#. I don't think I am perfect - far from it. I apologized where I was wrong(as in any conflict there usually are errors on both parties part) - and my apology was thrown back in my face and then a bit of salt was thrown in the wound and rubbed!
I am glad I don't live in the same town as my old friends as I hate running into people and making happy small talk when really I want to flip them the bird. It isn't nice and it isn't right. I am mad at them, I am mad at people who believe them and I am mad at Christians in general. I don't doubt God or who he is. But I am having a problem uniting the people I know with the God I know.
The truth of the matter is I am angry, really angry. Yet there is no one to direct my anger at - other than myself and trust me that hasn't been going so well. I know that although a lot of what happened sucked - there were some good things. I lost my job - but I still had my other one - and I totally love it. I lost lots of friends - but were they ever really my friend? No they weren't they used me for what I could do to help them, and I lost my church - and it may have improved now but it was one messed up place and I am grateful that I am no longer there.
Well that is all the soul searching I can handle for now - off to You Tube to watch Russel Peter's clips and live in denial a bit longer.

Step in time
Today J-man took a few steps! I was one happy mama! Maybe for Christmas he'll be going! I told my sister he was saving it for her visit. Of course I was kidding but it looks like it may be true now!
J-man is getting into everything these days. Our Christmas tree only has decorations on the top half now, the vertical blinds are a mess, and things get strewn all over the house! I feel like the only thing I say it "No J-man , Stop J-man, No touch J-man!" To which he grins and then touches it again! Sometimes with such mischief in his eyes we crack right up - so much for being strict parents!

Booger booger boogers
I have seen enough snot today to last me till I die! J-man has had a runny nose for the last few days but I have been at work and therefore not getting to fully enjoy it! Nothing like wearing boogers on your shirt, in your hair or finding it on the furniture to really make you feel fabulous!
The fireplace guy came today to fix our gas fireplace - which we haven't been able to get to work in a year! He starts it in the first try!!! What the heck??? So he cleaned the dust out and charged me $150. How does that happen? I can't get the stupid thing to light - in fact no one can - until I pay money to have someone come out. As a side bonus - he was suppose to come at 10am. The company called at 7:50 "Can we come now?" Ah sure - as I sprint out of bed to the closet and throw on some clothes, brush my teeth and get J-man from his crib! At least it was an older gentleman - who didn't look too concerned with finding me with crazy hair and no makeup.

5 AM is waaaaay to early
Getting up at 5 AM is not nice! I am feeling pretty good - but all of us at work were pretty stupid today. Honestly it felt like we drank 2 beers and then tried to add numbers in our head! I am sure we have screwed up many accounts! I think the only thing that kept me going today was caffeine( as I am a decaf girl). A coffee and a coke will juice you for a good 8 hours! The buzz is wearing off though.
Tonight I am going to attempt to finish wrapping presents and addressing Christmas cards! Then and again - I may just make a feeble attempt and then eat ice cream!

Is it over yet?
Day from hell!
Normally I spend 5 to 15 minutes with someone when I'm at work. Today I spent 6 hours working on one account! All day I sat and worked and corrected screw ups! My brain is shot! I got no breaks other than my lunch and I went and picked up a Christmas present then! I missed getting my Starbucks(that is the sound of me weeping uncontrollably). Got back to the office -looked down at my pants and realized I had split the seam in the crotch! Luckily just the outer seam so I wasn't flashing anything at work! Did I mention that the monthly visitor is here too! Great hungry, tired, cranky, and obviously too fat for my pants! Bring it on!!! Anyone else want to kick me????
Ry and J-man were both sick today - therefore they stayed home and I worked! Then I came home and made dinner. The phone rang(my sister) but the cordless was dead. So I missed the call. I finally used the fax machine to call her back - she had a bad day too! So we both complained.
Next I realized that J-man couldn't go to his daycare tomorrow as he was still coughing! Jamie just had a baby, Trish is working, my mom is working, my mother in law is flying to Manitoba, and my sister in law is doing car pool - and doesn't have enough seats in her van! Ry thought about going in tonight and working through the night - but then he's be up for 48 hours straight - not such a good idea! Luckily my fabulous wonderful smart sister in law said she could watch J-man until 2pm when she has to do the car pool run! Therefore it will be an early morning tomorrow but we'll all still get to work.
I have a work breakfast tomorrow at 7am!! So I'll be getting up at 5 (gasp wheeze cough!). Ry will be getting up then too. He'll jet into work. J and I will go to breakfast, then to my SIL. Off I go to work(hopefully easier than today) and RY will come back early and get him at 2!
I thought this was going to be a short post - thanks for the rant! Okay I gotta go wrap the secret Santa gift for tomorrow! Ta ta!

Lost and not found!
Ever put something in such a safe place that you can't remember where it is? I bought some money orders for my mom and put them somewhere - of course I can't remember where! I have pulled apart my purses, diaper bags, jackets, clothes and car. No luck! This is what happens when I clean. Even if it wasn't lost before, it will be now!
Another Storm???
Where did the wind come from??? It actually picked my grocery's up out of my buggy and flung them across the parking lot. Then I crashed my buggy into someones car(oops) - the wind was so strong I couldn't control it! J-man just freaked out and I was diving under cars trying to save bread and other food products!
We just keep partying!
On Saturday night we went to Ryan's work party - it was fun. How is it that those in their 50's can party harder than those of us under(just barely!) 30? Then we headed out to Kim & Aaron's for another party! Mel & Rocky were there too - so we chatted about their new house and what project we'll be helping with next weekend as we're going to finally go help them on Saturday. K&A's party was a costume party - since we'd been at another party we were "a producer and his wife" in other words were were way over dressed! Everyone else was dressed in the best costumes - Rocky was great including the real black eye - but Tanya took the cake as Jennifer Beals in Flashdance!
Sunday we had my in laws over for a little early Christmas and today my aunt Carol came for dinner with my parents. Tomorrow I only have to go to work - a break ;-) Then Wednesday it is back to the craziness. Wednesday I have my branch Christmas breakfast(you don't want to know how early I will be getting up!) Then Thursday the furnace guy is coming here, I am helping Lisa with her move and then maybe, if I can still move, going to drop a meal off for my cousin and his wife! Friday it is back to work but so far the evening is clear! I think we'll hide at home until the 23rd when Marcy comes into town!
Okay gotta jet as I have lunches to make and laundry to do!
PS Tanya - I hope the latte was good - I'd die without my almost daily dose of Starbucks ;-) I'll go have one tomorrow on my lunch and raise a toast to you getting a Starbucks!

A clean office
Yes you read correctly my office is clean! Now if you haven't ever seen my MESSY office - count yourself lucky! It is the catch all room - anytime people are coming over - quick throw all the crap in there and shut the door. We haven't quite finished but it is much much better. Today was especially bad as there was a huge pile of papers on both desks, Christmas presents all over the bed, and various J-man clothes to be stored. So I wrapped the Christmas presents and put them under the tree. We got a bag of garbage and a bag of recycling off the desks(I sheepishly admit) and we put some toys and clothes that J-man had outgrown into the crawl space. Looking at the pictures it still looks messy to me but it is a vast improvement - there is floor space - I can see carpet!
What brought on this quick clean??? My aunt is in town and she's coming for dinner tomorrow night. She will want to see the whole house therefore it must all be clean. Normally there isn't a big tour of the house but when out-of-towners come you have to show the whole thing! So Auntie Carol - this one's for you. My mother is regaining consciousness as she reads this - that big thump you heard was her falling off her chair! Yes mooma I have cleaned up!

Yesterday Lisa and I went to go see The Holiday. It was a great movie - very interesting as is follows several characters at the same time but in separate countries. I would recommend this movie - but it is in the chick flick category so grab your girl friends and leave the boys at home!
Ry and Rob had the boys - they survived ;-) They had both boys asleep when we got back and they were lounged out on the furniture looking very relived that we were home! Of course they were watching highlights of a hockey game they had just watched! Is that a guy thing? If you just saw the game do you need to watch the highlights(1,2,3,4...10 times)?????
Anyway Ry told me to get off the computer after 15 minutes (and he's a bit crabby today) so I better be going - as I need him to be happy if I am going to get my Christmas tree up this weekend ;-)

A letter to Santa
Dear Santa
This year I have been really good. I've volunteered at church, I've volunteered at work, I've even paid my bills on time(well most of the time anyway).
I didn't hit the neighbor's kids, even though they deserve it. I was nice to people who I really would rather push down the stairs. I even smiled today at someone who was really mean to me.
Therefore I would like the following
ipod nano - silver
a good book
and a nice vacation
but if those aren't possible world peace would do.

Tick Tock
How can it possibly only be 19 days till Christmas? I was so ahead for a while but I got cocky and am now way behind. There is so much to do. We have been so busy that the tree is still in the crawl space. We also haven't put up our outdoor lights. Hopefully this weekend we'll get all that done.
I am also trying to get the dreaded Christmas cards done. I lost my address book somewhere in my house so I am trying to figure how I can get my cards to people - mom I'll be calling you for addresses! I also have to decide if I am going to do the "cheesy family Christmas letter" - the horror - I am sure I will be disowned by my family if i do one but this year might just be the year!
I am doing a mini scrapbook this year for a gift and it is taking a while as the pages are 3 x 3. So I have been developing photos and then realizing they're too big and going back to the computer to find new shots! It does look nice though.
Okay I better jet as the house looks like a bomb hit it - J-man can create such mess! Toys from one end of the house to the other!

Good Day/Bad Day
Today I am both really sad and really happy. So which do you want - the good news first or the bad news?
The bad news - the husband of a co-worker of mine passed away yesterday in a car accident. We were all so sad for her and her family today. They have two school age children. I would guess my co-worker to be 5 years older than me. I just cannot imagine losing my husband so young and so suddenly. Please pray for them in this time.
The good news - my cousin and his wife had their baby today - a girl(we already knew the gender). So baby M is now here. I know I'll see her at Christmas but maybe I can see her sooner :-) The funny thing is that I bought a little outfit yesterday for baby M. So congrats K&T!

Now boarding at gate 47...
Everyone's favorite Flight Attendant was in town for a quick stop over. We had a little breakfast at the slowest White Spot known to man(at the Ramada). But we still had fun. J-man did very well - picking food off GG's plate (yummmm grapes).
J-man as usual was being goofy for the camera - I don't know where he gets it!

Party Party
Two nights in a row I have gotten home after 1 am. I don't know if I have ever done that - and I know I haven't done it since having J-man. So we are feeling a little rough today.
I started the night with a glass of wine at our friends before heading to the party - sadly I had a empty tummy so I was feeling it before I ever got to the party. It didn't help that L, my friend, poured me the largest glass of wine I have ever seen. Honesty it was close to a third of a bottle - which for a non drinker such as myself is a lot of wine esp. before dinner.
Got through dinner - didn't really drink anything but water as I didn't want to make an arse out of myself. H(another friend) came by and poured me a glass of wine as no one at her table was drinking any - she asked if I was going to dance(as there was a dance floor filled with middle age executives trying to shake their money makers) I truthfully told H that I don't dance unless I have had a good amount of alcohol. It must be the meno-ness! She said she didn't either so we drank a glass together and went and requested Billy Jean by Michael Jackson. I think we had another glass of wine while we waited for our song and then we broke it out on the floor and gave Billy Jean a run for her money.
H was feeling pretty rough after the last glass(which we drank a little too quickly) so we got her hubby and got her on her way home. I stayed a bit longer and L and I ate some food - to help dry out and then we went and danced a little more. Who can resist Grease Lightening??? Not me!
I won a cordless mouse as my door prize - which is cool but $100 would have been cooler!
Anyway - slept again this afternoon and am feeling great. Well rested and hydrated!!
J-man is cranky today - I think a combo of a weird weekend and teething as he freaks over just about everything.

Computer Withdrawl
Yesterday we went to Warm Beach in Washington State to see the Christmas lights. I worked till 3pm then we boogied down. We got back here around 1:15 AM - so I didn't even turn on my computer - that has to be some sort of record for me - espeically in the last month!
The lights were beautiful but sadly some parts were damaged by all the storm we've had - but hopefully the'll be fixed really soon. We try and go every year with Ry's family. We didn't really tak any photos this year but tomorrow I'll uplaod a few.
Tonight is my work party - so we are dressing up and trying to look pretty. Due to the snow and my working I haven't had my eyebrows done in a LONG time (4 weeks I think) So I will have to suck it up and grab my tweezers as they are looking pretty bad.
Thanks for all the comments on my last post - glad I am not the only one without a waiste the size of a lamp post LOL!
Kerry - I'll wait for your call as I don't have your number and we can set up a time for breakfast!

Christmas Outft!
I needed a outfit to wear this holiday season - I have a few things in my closet but the body isn't quite the same after having a baby.
So I ventured out to the local mall(sooooo bad!). I tried one rather "mom" store - everything looked matronly on me - must be all the lumps and bump ;-) Then I tried a store aimed at teenagers. Firstly the service was shotty at best. Although once I got the one girl to help me she was quite nice. Then I tried to squeeze myself into several shirts and pants. Why oh why do they make mediums that really only fit a size 2 woman (which I am not!) So I tried on the larges - there were some rather scary versions of Ej looking like a sausage, Ej looking like a set of moguls, Ej looking like she has the biggest saggiest boobs ever!
Finally, I found a shirt and it was perfect. It was in black (I love wearing black - hides the lumps and bumps) and it was on sale. My pant and shirt cost $30. Now chances are good that they'll fall apart by New Years but who cares! They were only $15 each.
Finished off the evening with a little Purdy's ice cream (yum) as I have a figure to maintain ;-)

I have made it through the entire month posting everyday! Phewwww! I am kind of glad it is over as now I can relax a bit - although I liked posting everyday. So I may try and keep it up but if I miss a day C'est La Vie. December is going to be busy with family stuff and get togethers so I don't know if I'll be posting much during that.
December will be a big month as my cousin and his wife are having a baby, my Aunt is coming - in a week I think, my sister is coming for the holidays, my cousins are all coming down both from the north or the city, my other Aunt and Uncles are swinging into town too. We've never had this many family in town in one year - it is crazy.
I am currently trying to type with J-man vying for my attention - hitting me(we are working on him NOT doing that), and pushing the keyboard away. Kids are soooo squirmy!
I was all set for a snow day but we only got 3 inches - I had my day all planned out - in my head and then it wasn't a snow day. All those plans went out the window. J-man woke up very early(at least for him) so we both had naps later. So I haven't really done much today - am feeling no motivation!
December will be a big month as my cousin and his wife are having a baby, my Aunt is coming - in a week I think, my sister is coming for the holidays, my cousins are all coming down both from the north or the city, my other Aunt and Uncles are swinging into town too. I am currently trying to type with J-man vying for my attention - hitting me(we are working on him NOT doing that), and pushing the keyboard away. Kids are soooo squirmy!
I was all set for a snow day but we only got 3 inches - I had my day all planned out - in my head and then it wasn't a snow day. All those plans went out the window. J-man woke up very early(at least for him) so we both had naps later. So I haven't really done much today - am feeling no motivation!

MySp*ce Graphics
Several posts ago I put a mysp*ce graphic on here - now anytime someone puts mysp*ce in a google search my page comes up! While I like that it helps my numbers (the ego does well when I get 60 hits a day) it isn't actually anyone that ever comes back. So for future reference - I don't have any graphics here, or words to Christm*s C*rols. You'll notice I've removed certain letters (okay one letter) from these words - that way I won't come up in a search!Anyway - we're at 2 inches of snow and falling tonight! I am sooooo sick of this! I am not a winter girl - that is why I live here. There are two seasons - rain and about to rain. None of this snow business. Luckily they sent me home from work early so I didn't have to drive.

Bus in bed!
You know there are kids in your house when...you find a bus in your bed!Last night I was getting into bed when I came upon this nice little yellow bus! I remember J-man crawling into our room as I blog stalked - he was pushing the bus going "vrooom vroooom." Then a little while later he reappeared and we went downstairs. How he got it onto the bed - I have no idea but he surprises me all the time!

bbrrrrrr Baby it's cold outside!
Whoever turned off the heat - I am freezing!!! I didn't go to work today as Ry said the roads were nasty. So I stayed home - but I am completely stir crazy!
Leah - I steamed two of my big windows(we have a really damp house - so our windows grow mold and it is nasty!), the dishwasher, and a bit of my stove. So more surfaces are feeling the heat. I LOVE it - bye bye mold and other gunk!
I have no idea how to dry out our house! During the summer, fall and spring we can leave windows open. But during winter - I am not paying for heat to go right out the windows. We leave the bathroom fan on all the time and that helps but it doesn't help once I turn the fan off. With the cold weather this week there is condensation on all our windows. The windows that got sun light today dried off but the back of the house it is just a little swimming pool! If anyone knows how to solve this damp problem leave me a comment!
J-man has started teething again so we have one cranky baby here! It has been a rather tiring day with him. In fact I can't remember if I even brushed my teeth this morning! And since it is suppose to snow again - I thought I would leave you with a photo of what I would rather be looking at than the snow!

Well we actually do have places to go but we didn't go! Ry stayed home from work as the freeway was CRAZY! So we argued and bickered and finally got out by taking a trip to SuperStore.
Hopefully tomorrow it will be okay as we've all got lives to live! The weekend is over and now we would like it to warm up and go away! I am so fickle ;-) Here are some pictures from last night before the snow plows came. We now have a 9-10 foot pile of snow in front of us as they piled all the snow in between units!

The many faces of J-man
Tonight while I tried(in vain) to get J-man to smile for the camera he gave me many faces. He goes through a whole spectrum of them if you ask him to "say cheese." It is so funny. He looked like a little model posing for me. Ry and I couldn't get over it. So today you must suffer through a mother's pride!
We've been stuck inside today as the wind has been a bit much here. It snowed all night and all today. The unit across from us has a 2 foot drift up against their garage. Now in the prairies I am sure they are laughing at us - but here the world stops for 1cm of snow - let alone 15-30cm. Ry doesn't think he'll make it into work tomorrow as the freeway will be NASTY! Luckily I am not working tomorrow. Of course I did have lots to do tomorrow but it will have to get done later in the week. I hope to get some outside pictures tomorrow but today our batteries were dead and the wind would have made it a picture of whiteness and nothing else!

Last Minute Annie
So today we decided (10 minutes before leaving for Costco) that we need a family shot so that we could get cards made. So we set up the tripod and flash flash flash we had a picture. J-man wasn't smiling but Ry & I look good - and that is what is important right??? We had a few with J-man smiling and suffice to say - we did not look good. I have been forbidden by Ry to put any unflattering pictures on my blog so you'll just have to imagine the double chins and bad angles.
We ended up going for a condensed version of our date day as we didn't get out butts in gear this afternoon. We wandered the aisles at Costco, had dinner at Milestones, headed to Moores to buy Ry a tie, House of James, and finally to Starbucks(eggnog latte - yum). Yes it was all shopping but I have an unusual hubby - he likes to shop! It was nice to just walk around and look at stuff - with no little person hollering at me, or grabbing breakables. Dinner was great and when we heard a kid screaming across the restaurant we smiled(thinking - ha ha ha it isn't us having to deal with that!)
Anyway - it looks like we are going to get a big dump of snow(at least big for the coast)

Introducing...
My cousin Miss K - I have corrupted another mind to the world of blogs. Go check out her blog and say hi! I have also added a few MySpace pages - That of Marcy (my sister) and Lady J
It was snowing like crazy on the drive home tonight but now has stopped! How typical is that. During the drive it is horrible - can't see a thing, and once we are home snug as bugs it stops. I don't know if I want it to snow or not! Ry and I are suppose go out for a date tomorrow - and snow will kill that. But snow is sooo fun(on the weekend). J-man has never played in the snow - so I think that would be fun.
Anyway I should go as J-man is drinking the water in his bath - and Ry is watching laughing. Nothing like bath water to quench your thirst(ewww pee pee water)

2 posts in one day
Yes I posted about 5 minutes ago but I asked for suggestions of favorite Christmas Albums. So thank you to all who commented.
I have so many albums. My favorites lean towards the unusual or the classics. You just can't go wrong with Frank, Dean, Bing, Judy, or Ella. Mercy Me has a good album - they've added their own twist to the songs. I love Lonestar's version of Santa Clause is Coming to Town. But the all time favorite is still She Daisy's - A Brand New Year. They pretty much re-arranged basics, and then added a few of their own songs.
Of course there is the album everyone should have - The Chipmunks - or even better Bob Rivers spoof of them - Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire. Maybe it is just me and my sick sense of humour but I find most of Bob River's stuff funny. My family's favorite - The Butt Cracker Suite. We actually performed at the family talent show wearing underwear on our heads to that particular song - ahh holiday memories!

A new baby
Nope - not me - Jamie had a baby girl yesterday. So a big congrats to the Toews clan. She looks cute as can be - I hope to get a closer viewing next week - disguised as bringing a meal over!
Last night I said to Ry that even though I had picked a boy for the baby pool - I was now thinking girl. I said that around 9:15 last night - how weird is that as that is when Keziah was born.
I'm still trying to figure out when we should have another baby - which is kind of a joke as who knows how long or what treatments we'll need. In the mean time I am enjoying sleeping through the night and not feeling like barfing 24/7! Although when I see Keziah I may get all baby fevered up!
Today at work I was on reception as our regular girl had a meeting at Admin. I like being there as I get all sorts of things done that I normally don't have time for - but the day does seem to drag. Most of the day was pretty good - I even managed to get all the clearing done in 15 minutes - which is a feat close to parting the red sea.

6. chew - with mouth closed.

1. kick and wiggle as placed in high chair
2. pick up chicken in hand, mashing food beyond recognition - identify it as a foreign object and put in nose
3. rethink nose idea, attempt to place in mouth
4. miss mouth
5. pick it up again and throw it on the floor - stupid chicken
6. yell at mom to feed you chicken on her fork
7. mom feeds you chicken
8. chew with large lip smacks and with food in view of all at the table
Dessert
1. attempt to pick up of brownie piece
2. successful
3. hmmmmm how many pieces can I put in my mouth
4. proceed to shove four pieces in mouth
5. try and chew this most delicious dessert
6. smile as mom and dad start to laugh
7. bits of brownie roll down chin with drool - mom and dad now in full hysterics
8. put another piece in mouth
9. gag on brownie, mom removes excess food having regained her composure
10. clap in delight at making parents day

Costco
Costco is my favorite place to shop. Sadly we haven't had our own card in several years and since Ry's job change we haven't even had access to one. So you can imagine my elation to finding out that we could EACH get our own card with his new job. YIPPEEEEEEE!
I am a pro Costco shopper - I can be in and out with a full buggy in 10-15 minutes. Of course I will have to relearn where everything is as it seems much has changed. I also like to toodle through all the aisles to look for and at stuff occasionally. While you can spend waaaay too much money there; if you just skip the book/cd aisles and just head for the food you can be in and out in a jiff and under $100.
So today I went in to get my card - firstly the lady couldn't find hubby's company (slight heart attack at the thought of being denied), once she found it then I got my photo taken - with J-man (how cute!), then I turned that cart around and entered...sweet glorious Costco.
Of course J wasn't in the mood to let me have much of a look but I did scout out a few aisles and buy diapers. I zoomed through the Christmas aisles(just for you Kristy) and refrained for any purchasing. This weekend we'll go back(as part of our date - the parents will have J-man - how sad it that - we're going to spend part of our date in Costco! LOL).
Anyway - J-man was MUCH happier today - I think I'll keep him :-) He even slept this morning till 10 am!!!! I enjoyed my sleep in - but missed my mom's group - oh well 10 hours of sleep was worth it!

Relief is in Sight
J-man continues his cranky ways today. But Ry noticed an eye tooth has popped through. Of course there are three more that have to come through but I am hoping they'll either all appear in the next few days or bugger off and wait so that I can get some patience back!
Only a man --- I have a Wall Flower - which is like a Glade plug in but from Bath & Body works. Ry knocked it over this morning and being a man he set it on the counter upside down! So that the flower part was down and all the fragrance oil leaked out onto the counter! So Lisa if you are checking blogs - we really need to go across the line to buy refills now :-)
Site counter - my site counter is ticking my off! It won't let me into it. I can access other counters but not my own. I have put in passwords, I have asked for new passwords and it won't work. It is like it is frozen. I am getting a little ticked!!!!! Can you tell? If I am still having this problem tomorrow I may have to try a different kind. Anyone else having issues?

I have started to decorate for the holidays. The mantel is a work in progress - I have included a pic from last year - I am still playing with this year's as I have added a few more Santa's but now it feels too busy so I will continue to play and then post a picture. It is still a bit early but Thanksgiving was a month ago and I am sick of the gloom of November. It was also nice to spend an hour and then be able to pack it away - as I have a LOT of stuff for the holidays and I am going to try and downsize this year.
In a shameless plug for comments - what is your favorite Christmas CD - I have so many but I think I'll pass some on and buy a few new ones. Got any favorites? One of my all time favorites is She Daisy's holiday album and I don't think a Christmas season goes by with out a little Mariah. Let me know what you love!

Hanging with the fam!
Today we went for lunch at the in-laws. We ended up spending the day there - then everyone came to our house for a pizza dinner. Therefore I will post something interesting tomorrow as I am too wiped out tonight ;-)
The one problem with posting everyday is finding something worth posting! I have looked back on some of my posts and they are BORING! Yet how do I find something unique everyday - and where do I get the energy to post something new everyday! I like trying to be creative. I also think it helps my blog readership when there is something new daily but boring posts aren't really
any better than no posts! I have started a list of things to blog about so that when nothing happens I'll have a few subjects to blog about. There are also a few topics that require some deep thought before posting.
Anyway - Tomkat got married - Am I the only one who finds that whole relationship surreal? Ten years ago Katie told Tigerbeat(or some other teen magazine) that she wanted to marry Tom - how creepy is that? I mean when I was younger I thought I was going to marry a New Kid on the Block (which now just grosses me out). You don't actually marry these people!!! The whole relationship just seems strange and makes me want to yell - Say it with me people - ewwwwwwwwwww!

Nobody can explain it
Yes I was told there were days when I would want to sell my child to the Gypsy's - did I believe them? No! Never tell an infertile woman that she won't love her child every second of the day! it is not something she can understand.
Once I cross over to being a parent there was a slight understanding though of that particular phrase. Don't get me wrong - I love my son (mess with him and you'll see how nasty I can be) He is the light of our lives. Yet he has not been feeling well - reacting to his chicken pox and rubella shots. This has made him one irritable screaming child who refuses to play, eat, or sleep!
I am about to lose my mind! Where there once was a mature woman dressed to the nines, there is now a bad hair , garlic breath, boogers on the shirt mother! This afternoon I thought about putting my head in the toilet and flushing just so that I would have 30 seconds with no crying! He wanted to be held this afternoon - but I couldn't sit. Nope I had to stand. I was subjected to multiple batterings as I tried to get some food in my mouth for lunch, I finally ate a few cashews and put on some videos.
He is now sleeping - and I am going to enjoy these last few moments before he wakes! May he not be crazy this evening!

Ohhh the Dentist
Today I took J-man to the dentist for the first time. He got two bouncy balls from the toy drawer - it was so cute. He didn't let go of those balls the whole time we were there, the walk back to the car, the drive to Lisa's and then some of the time at Lisa's.
Then he freak showed and screamed his head off once Ryken woke up - I am not sure we'll ever be invited over again! Of course he is still running a fever - so I won't go to work tomorrow as nobody want to deal with him right now. I resorted to his favorite video many many many times today as that was the only thing he was happy doing!
Of course I got the bad news from the dentist that I need a crown on one tooth - I suspected so but I was hoping the root canal would last a bit longer. What can I say? My teeth have gone to crap since having J-man. I am pretty sure I have sent Dr. W. on several family vacations, maybe even bought them a new car! Thanks goodness I have a great dentist who puts up with my neurotic behaviours. So I wait to find out how much this is going to set me back(at least I have some coverage). I think it may be bye-bye ipod and hello tooth for my Christmas present. As I will pay extra for the porcelain over the metal - call me vain, call me frivolous but there is not way I am having a big gold tooth in my mouth!
Okay - I am off to bed as I am starting to see double as I type!

Not a good day for a walk
Whewwwww what weather we are having. Power is out most places, trees are hanging over power lines, branches are flying off trees and into car windows, the doors of buildings are being caught in gusts of wind and bent backwards so they can't be closed(this happened at my work). Ahhh the fun of a tropical storm meeting and Arctic storm! Not a harmonious marriage.
To make today even better J-man was sick today - of course he was doing okay when I took him to daycare but he quickly went downhill. Luckily Ry could come home(as his work had no power) and take him home. I then went back to work - to save the world one term deposit at a time! My brain is fried. I can barely think! I had a nice post for today in mind but this is all your getting tonight!

Old Friends
On the weekend my friends Steph and Mel came by. I met Steph years ago through camp. My sister and Ry have known her for more years than I can count. Mel is Steph's roommate and I met her a few summers' ago at camp but this last summer she got to deal with both Steph and I as we tried to lead camp this summer. We laughed more that week than I have laughed in years.
The great thing about camp is that it is all about fun - even when you are running the show! One night while walking back to out cabin we got silly - in the way of teenage girls. Both Mel & I got a little scared of the dark - no lights out there - even though we were kind of walking along a cliff(there was a railing) So both Mel & I decide we don't want to be the last person walking so we both are fighting to get by each other. Steph was maturely walking ahead of us(yeah right) In our haste we trip Steph who is now clinging onto the railing and trying to figure out what is going on - Mel stepped on my foot and I stepped on Steph's. Mel and I finally crash out on the rocks laughing like loons.
There was a tent platform nearby(the rebels and rowdies that ware hard to get to sleep) Their leader calls down to see if we are alright. Steph managed to reply - Mel and I are almost ready to pass out from lack of air because we are laughing so hard. Then she turned the mom look onto us! You know that look - the don't mess with me, and march your butts to the cabin right now look! Don't ask me how we could see suddenly in the dark but we both knew we were in trouble. So Mel and I suffering from giggles and the hiccups march back to the cabin where we tell Ry. Who once again thanks God that he was born male.
Steph and Mel are true friends. They make me laugh till my tummy hurts. They love me as I am . There are no rules to their friendship. Which especially this spring and summer I was lacking. We can disagree and it will still be okay. They love God and have suffered because of it which is refreshing. Their lives aren't perfect and they'll tell you that. They are honest and true to themselves. I feel blessed to be able to call them my friends.

Zoom Zoom
J-man took off with his walker today. He won't stand up to walk with it but if we stand him behind the walker he shoots around the room. (I have video but my mom and I sound soooo dorky in our "yeaahhhhhhhh JJJJJJJ" that you would want to gag yourself.) Anyway this is huge progress as the health unit wants him assessed for being developmentally delayed because he doesn't walk - we are waiting till after Christmas to deal with all that fun stuff. Maybe he'll walk before that and then I won't have to be stressed about it any more.
Will the rain ever stop? I think I could launch a canoe in the backyard today. And it is only suppose to get worse. I am so glad that we aren't in the flooded areas right now.
I am starting to feel quite Christmas-y. I think I will drag the music out tonight and maybe indulge in a little White Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, or the family favorite of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
I am feeling horrible today - of course I realized at 430 that I had eaten 2 bran muffins at noon and that was it for food. So no wonder I feel bad. Made dinner and drank some water - still feel yucky but I am hoping it will go away. I have to work tomorrow so no being sick!
Sorry for the lame post - nausea isn't very thought inducing!

Why Farts Are Funny
Because they make noise! And sometimes they stink! Yes it is a sad and sometimes gross fact that EVERYBODY farts (yes even you).
J-man sat in his highchair the other day eating. Suddenly he gets this weird look on his face and lets a ripper go. Then he cracks up laughing his butt off. Ry and I were stuck in the position of being parents - is it nasty to fart at the dinner table or darn funny (it was impressive on the volume scale). We both looked at each other and then started laughing too! So much for parental control.
There you have it - potty humor is ingrained in us. It comes with us all along - much to my mother's dismay. It doesn't matter what gender you are, it still happens - if someone farts - you laugh.

The Moaner
I can always tell when my hubby finds a comfortable position to sleep or sit or lie down. How??? He lets out a big breath/moan. "Ahhhhhhh" as he gets into bed, "Ahhhhh" as he sits on the couch, even "Ahhhhhh as he sits on the toilet"(he may not like me after reading this post) . This "Ahhhhh-ing" Drives me NUTS! It is annoying when I am in the other room but if I am in bed before him I usually get the "ahhhh" puff of air in the face - EWWWWWW!
Of course now that I have noticed he does this - it makes it so much more obvious to me. I hear him do it all the time. Of course being the sweet thing that I am(haha) there are times I have threatened to duct tape his mouth closed. And yet he still loves me ;-)

Jingle Jingle
I am feeling rather sloth-ish tonight. I have binged on junk food - and now feel guilty but Friday is cheat day (that is my story and I am sticking to it.)
The holidays are creeping up to me - rather quickly. Today I enjoyed my second Eggnog Latte from Starbucks. I love these - but I HATE Eggnog. Go figure! I savored it while driving to the mall - thinking I had lots of time before I had to meet Lisa - so the traffic was okay. Turns out I was soooo late (sorry Lisa). It should have taken me 15 minutes but it took 45 as the traffic was crazy from the rain today.
Again I ran across the phenomenon that no one knows how to drive in the rain, which around here is bizarre. There are two types of people - Scared of Water, and Death Hunters. People either are too cautious and drive you mental or they are swerving in and out of traffic occasionally telling you by gestures that "you're #1". Back at you crazy lady(I did not return the gesture but I sure wanted to -occasionally my Christian love takes a hiatus)
It is suppose to RAIN RAIN RAIN all weekend (big shocker I know). I plan to hunker down with the family and hide till Christmas.
Night night...12 hours till I can get another eggnog latte - tick toc tick toc.

Screeching in with minutes to spare
I am just going to make it for my post today. I have been working all night on cards. 4 1/2 hours straight. I was not feeling the love tonight for card making but I promised to bring something for the silent auction at work tomorrow. Being the cheapo that I am I didn't want to have to spend $$. I am not sure it was worth it. A $10 bottle of wine would have appeased them all and my back wouldn't hurt and I could have been asleep an hour ago.
I sure hope somebody bids more than a $1 - or else I may have to buy them back ;-)
The creative juices were zip zilch nada tonight. I worked 3 hours last night on Christmas cards, so I included one of those. Due to copy right I can't post a pic of any of them. Some the one tonight were good and some UGLY. They may look better to me tomorrow.
Why oh why do I succumb to the guilt of these events. I know it builds team spirit at work but we are using the funds for a TV for the break room - which I won't watch.
Well I must now get ready for bed and see if I can be in bed today. Tomorrow I will try and be witty - or at least entertaining - perhaps I will finally get to posting about the moaning husband phenomenon or the fact that even babies find burps and farts funny(yes, potty humor starts from birth).

Case and point - there are some truely dumb things for you to add to your page. Including kisses, hearts(ugh!), and many Disney Princesses. Now unless you are under the age of 10 - please do not decorate you home, car(although what 10 year old has a car?), or blog with these items. I love Disney but not so much as to decorate my blog with Winnie the Pooh.

K-Fed Gets the Boot
Hark - stop the presses! The world is shocked to hear that Brittany and Kevin are splitsville. Did this union really stand a chance??? By all accounts he is a complete idiot - and course I am sure the tabloids report correctly and he has been sleeping in the basement - LOL.
He now has 4 children by 2 different women. News flash there Kevin - keep it in your pants! Did Brittany really think he was the kind of man that makes a good husband?
Lets review the facts - he was expecting his second child with Shar Jackson around the time he got with Ms Brit. (Shouldn't that be a warning sign to you - if you steal him from another woman perhaps he's not Prince Charming material) Then before the wedding photos are published in People Brit is expecting #1. Within months of Sean P. being born oops she did it again and got pregnant with number 2. And what do you know just after #2 is born he's toast. I am seeing a trend here!
Those poor children - hopefully Brit doesn't try and drive with them on her lap or drop them out of their highchairs again.
Okay enough Hollywood buzz - see ya tomorrow.

Post people POST!
So the only problem with posting everyday is that I notice all the people who don't! I keep checking other blogs yet there is very little out there that is new. I am searching for new ones to keep my addiction fed, but I really like it when they are familiar blogs. True most of the blogs I read are people I have never met but I feel like I know them - even if all I ever do is lurk. So please post my friends post!
In other news - J-man had his first round of immunizations (yeah yeah I know it is usually done earlier but you don't want to get me going on that!) I really did not like the way my sweet baby screamed when they jabbed limb after limb. And to make me feel even better my son, who already prefers his dad to me any day, is avoiding me like the plague tonight. So once again - mom=bad, dad=good. I know it is for his own benefit to be immune to bad stuff but now he dislikes me even more than before. Of course I am hoping he is not like me as I for some reason have not develped some antibodies after being vaccinated - and they have tried many times with some.
I shall leave you with the face J-man gives me today - it's enough to break my heart - little turkey!

Singing and Dancing in the Rain
On Saturday while at WOF Lisa and I decided we were going to go to Moxie's for lunch (something to wash away the taste of our putrid breakfast). So we left a few minutes early for lunch so that we'd get a table and be back in time for Avalon(who, as always, were awesome).
Of course the heaven's opened and poured rain as we skirted around GM Place. Lisa and I nearly blinded each other with our umbrella's - that's what I get for having such a tall friend - the edge of her umbrella was right at my eye level.
As we walked down Beatty the wind picked up. So now the rain is coming straight at us. We get to the corner( W Georgia) and suddenly I feel it coming. C-R-A-Z-Y time!!!! Keep in mind that while there were cars driving by there were not many people on the side walk. I burst into a (horrible) version of Singing in the Rain. I am totally wet - and the wind is making an umbrella useless - so I start doing the Can-Can, and twirling my umbrella.
Lisa, I think, wanted to die - I was quite the sight.
I thought about launching myself at a light post to see if I could do a twirl around it - like the movie. But I decided I would probably only make an arse out of myself. So I just gave the dancing my Broadway best. It was very liberating.
As the little white man started flashing for us to cross I demurely righted the umbrella and made my way up the street to have my lunch. Feeling refreshed and thinking I really needed to do that more often...You've been warned!

Women of Faith
Lots to say about this but I am just too tired to think. Tomorrow I hope to get unlazy and write about it.
Tonight on the drive home I was thinking - I didn't miss my family at all - oooo I am such a bad mother!
But after dropping Lisa off I suddenly was very impatient to get home to my boys. I had a lead foot all the way(may my mother not read that!). Luckily I kept the car on the road and avoided getting a ticket.
Now I am home and back to cleaning up, changing diapers, and well ...life.
The relaxed urban dweller(who was seen doing the can-can on W Georgia & Beatty) is back to being "mom"

Another Day - Another Post
Well I was suppose to blog about something else today but ran out of time this morning so this will have to do :) I am going into Vancouver for the Women of Faith Conference today. So I ran around this morning - first getting J-man and I ready(he is going to a sitters till Ry is done work) Then I had to get my brows waxed(the buggers just keep growing!)then I went to work to get money - was invited out to lunch with the girls, so off to the very yummy Greek Islands, then off to my mom's as there is a computer to blog on there! I forgot to blog before leaving home this morning. Since I am here at my mom's, I put on her ipod while I blog - I think I may have to get one of these. I let J-man have a listen and just to prove that he is my son and has great taste in music he smiled when Pink Cadillac came on, and danced for Raining Men(Weather Girls versions). Mere this work out play list is sweet! Okay must run "She's a brick house" Can you feel my groove here???

A little piece of Controversy!
Around the start of this season on The View Rosie O’Donnell became a new co-host. Never one to keep an opinion to herself she started off the season with a bang. Around the anniversary of 9-11 she made the comment that Radical Christians are as dangerous as Radical Muslims. This started a backlash against The View and ABC.
It got me to thinking – do I agree with her or not?
Then I began to think about the meaning of the word Radical. In the dictionary there are several meanings.
Many Christian groups use the word radical in a way that means: Basic, essential; original, innate, ingrained. There is nothing wrong with being original to our faith and holding the bible in the utmost regard – neither deleting nor adding to it. Upon doing a Google search under Radical Christians – I got a mixture of web pages – some pages seemed to be about God and the personal journey of living for him. Yet other sites were about Radical groups who publish people’s addresses who go to abortion clinics or work for them, or threaten people who accept donations from plays that have content they don’t like.
That then led me to flip my option – perhaps I agree with Rosie – which wasn’t where I thought my research would lead me. There is another meaning of Radicalness - complete, unqualified, thorough; drastic, excessive, immoderate, violent. Radical, extreme, fanatical denote that which goes beyond moderation or even to excess in opinion, belief, action, etc. Radical emphasizes the idea of going to the root of a matter, and this often seems immoderate in its thoroughness or completeness: radical ideas; radical changes or reforms.
This same definition goes on to say - Extreme applies to excessively biased ideas, intemperate conduct, or repressive legislation: to use extreme measures. Fanatical is applied to a person who has extravagant views, esp. in matters of religion or morality, which render that person incapable of sound judgments; and excessive zeal which leads him or her to take violent action against those who have differing views: fanatical in persecuting others.
This would describe the people who threaten people if they have a different opinion than them.
So where did this leave me? Back at my original opinion as radical is the wrong word! Fanatical Christians are just as dangerous as Fanatical Muslims. Being radical (feel the 80’s vibe here) was a cool word in my childhood. I think it is still a good word today!
I all honesty I don’t care if people agree or disagree with Rosie or myself. What I care about is people taking the time to form their opinions through understanding of facts – not hatred of one group or race.

November is post a blog a day month!
While I haven't officially joined this blog roll I thought it a rather interesting idea. So I shall try to post a new post everyday for all of November - you may all be bored sick of me by then!
Happy November to all! May the rain and grey dreary days commence! Last year was rather bright and sunny - I hope we get this again! November also means retail shops are starting the Christmas push. Already we've received multiple catalogues in the mail. In Canada Halloween is the start of Christmas although most retailers don't bring out the big guns till November 12, the day after Remembrance day. While the poppies are red and green it is hard to be sober and think of the horrors of war while Madonna whines out Santa Baby.
Anyway - not much interesting stuff happening here, and I am too tired to really want to take the time to be creative. Tomorrows topic(subject to change) is Radical Christians and Rosie O'Donnell

Trick or Treat
Tonight we dressed J-man up and took him out into the wilds. We scored a nice little bucket of loot - which sadly has already been destroyed by yours truly - I know this is the only year I 'll be able to scarf without him catching on. I did save home a few boxes of smarties, although the mess that will make may give me nightmares. I have also included a nice set of pictures from Ry carving the pumpkin - it is a beauty.
I do have reservations about celebrating this particularly dark holiday but babies in costumes are so cute. I had a Tigger, Pooh, Fireman, and several cartoon characters at me door tonight. I could have done without the fake blood encrusted teens and creepy masks though.

The UFF
My cousin M got married this summer in a ritzy wedding. The photographer created a slide show online. So I went and checked it out. I noticed that there were pics of all my family members - yet none with me in there. There were pics of 'the sisters' aka my mom and her sisters, of the bride and groom, of J-man and Ry, there was also a picture of my cousin R. He was the only one in the picture but you could see part of a side profile of some ugly chick with him. Yet no pictures of me. Feeling rather perturbed I went through again as I must have missed myself. How did I avoid the camera so well???
So on my second time through I notice several things I missed in my first hasty run through. Ry has a mouth full of food in his pic - of course only I would notice that :) My mom looked hot hot hot! Then I tried to figure out who the person was with my cousin R. First thought was it must be family - or the UFF aka the Ugly Fat Friend. Try as I might I couldn't figure it out. Then like a slow motion scene in a bad movie I realized it was ME!!! Oh my - I am the UFF! Thanks to a bad thyroid(and the goiter it produced) from the side I look so nasty! Yes the camera did catch me at a bad angle yadda yadda yadda. I am the UFF!
So on my second time through I notice several things I missed in my first hasty run through. Ry has a mouth full of food in his pic - of course only I would notice that :) My mom looked hot hot hot! Then I tried to figure out who the person was with my cousin R. First thought was it must be family - or the UFF aka the Ugly Fat Friend. Try as I might I couldn't figure it out. Then like a slow motion scene in a bad movie I realized it was ME!!! Oh my - I am the UFF! Thanks to a bad thyroid(and the goiter it produced) from the side I look so nasty! Yes the camera did catch me at a bad angle yadda yadda yadda. I am the UFF!

A-maize-ing
We went to the corn maize today. No I did not spell it wrong - that is how you spell it. It was such a nice day - you gotta soak up the sun around here while you can. J-man fell asleep half way through the maize. I was happy about this as he was cranky but sad as it meant that I wouldn't get a - look at the baby in the pumpkin patch shot. Luckily after picking out 2 great pumpkins he woke up so we sat him on a hay bale and proceeded to take a few pics. He of course was owly and not really in to it. My dad got lots of good shots - so I'll have to post some of the good ones later but here are some of the one I got.My parents joined us - which was fun. I also ran into a old friend from high school - I haven't seen her in 12 years - this has been happening a lot(post for later I think). After the maize, apple orchard and pumpkin patch we headed over to Timmy's and had a donut and coffee(or tea). J-man yabbered away to everyone "tickle tickle, adoo adoo, oooooooo, da da da daddy daddy, hiiiiiiiiiiii" We are in big trouble once he is talking in words we can understand and have to listen to rather than keeping the volume low and tuning it out ;-)

New Look
Okay - so I have issues with commitment. I couldn't have the same template for too long so I have switched again. I know soooo many peeople complain about Beta but messing with your template is much easier. What do you think? I have gone rather modern today - red, black and white. I tried fall colours but it looked like poo - not so nice. Christmas is only two months away so the red and green will come out soon(you have been warned - I LOVE CHRISTMAS).

The Queen of Clean
Yes - that is my new name! I have become a neat freak. Tonight my mom called as I was doing my weekly kitchen clean up(wash all the counters, sink, and any other surfaces, take all the burners off the stove and wash all the bits) Now it is the last bit that my mom(a neat fanatic!!) says is over the top. Yes I do take the stove top apart once a week and scrub every little surface. Some weeks I even remove all the knobs and scrub them too. Luckily this week under close inspection they looked okay. I also send baking soda and vinegar with boiling water down the sink drain to clean all the gunk off. I also clean my sinks everyday with a bit of cleaner. I also put vinegar or tang in the dishwasher once a month and throw my drain rack in too for good measure.
Do I need a 12 step program? No I think not - but I have been watching the show How Clean is Your House a little too much so perhaps that has motivated me. As the bugs they show growing in those houses is enough to make you sick. I think I hear the bathroom calling me now "Come clean me, the fungus is starting to dwell, come clean me"
Is it wrong to think Vim and Lysol smell delish(as the annoyingly perky Rachael Ray would say)??
Anyway must buzz off the computer as I think the shower head is calling for a good cleaning :)
