Cause and Effect

This week J has dicovered many new things. The newest - when you bang you head on the floor it hurts! Yet for some reason he still does it. He crawls to the middle of the kitchen floor, looks at me than lowers his head with great velocity onto the laminate. BANG...wahhhhhhhhhhh! J.T. has been watching J for me this week(regular day care lady is sick). M used to head bang the floor and now after seeing J do it he's trying it out again. Sorry J.T. J often bangs his head against his blanket - which when on the carpet doesn't seem to phase him. Seems to me he must have a headache all the time! He is sporting a nice cut on his forhead from hitting the floor - still doing it though. Trying not to pay much attention to the head banging as I don't want to encourage it as an attention getter.

We also learned today to open a drawer in the kitchen - and promptly shut our fingers in said drawer. Since then he has given them a wide berth. I am sure it won't last though. We'll soon have to install those annoying drawer stops. J has also decided that he wants to finally feed himself. Up until yesterday he would throw food at me but not place it in his mouth(unless it was a cheerio). Dinner last night and breakfast this monring was 100% J. Which was kind of cool.

Well I think we are going to head off to Starbucks - J wants a frap! Wink Wink!

Ahhh - I'm a mom

Okay - I know that seems like a stupid observation but today a new co-worker assumed that I was a mom. What is that about???? Am I looking momish?? While I realize that I may not look 16 anymore do I scream "mom"? Is it my hair? My clothes? My ever expanding hips? Throw me a bone here!

Upgrades

It is official this blog has now switched over to Beta. I have kept the template so I don't get all the perks of the new system but as I love to change things up I am sure I'll change my template in a few months (maybe for Christmas).

I miss my sis!

My dear sister lives very far away. We are best of friends – probably closer when there is 3000 miles between us as we can’t get annoyed with each other. We talked on the phone today and it made me miss her more. It has been 8 months since I last saw her. There are certain times when I miss her so much. Today was one of them.

If you are not blessed with a sister let me tell you about the bonds of sisterhood. Who else can you complain about your parents to – and know that they understand that while mom/dad may drive you nuts that you still love them. You can complain and rant and they listen and then say how dumb the other party was for being mean to you. This is the person who sleeps under the Christmas tree with you, who goes to chick flicks (and helps you eat the large bag of twizzlers). She will borrow your clothes and tell you when you butt does look big in those pants. She will laugh when you make an idiot of yourself. She’ll pass the kleenex when your heart gets broken. You’ll share a language of inside jokes and family secrets. There is no one on earth as great as a sister. They are as screwed up as you because you came from the same people!!

Tomorrow my sister is getting on a plane and heading to London. She is going on a little adventure. She lives a very different life from me. Yet we’re always on the same page. Have a safe flight SGF!

New Rules and Regulations

After recent happenings over on Running Wildly I have added some strict rules.

1. Comment moderation has been turned on so I will be approving comments before they are visable.
2. Annonymous comments will not be approved unless they are signed with an initial or some way for me to know who you are or how you found me. Nothing too personal just found you through Wrinkles on Elephants etc.
3. Please do not refer to anyone by their full name - this includes me, my family, friends and other bloggers.

I am in the process of fiddling with a new format. I am not sure if I will keep this URL or start from scratch. I really don't want to go to a new blog - I am feeling rather attached to this one. I also realize that there is a lot of personal info that I may not want available to the whole WWW.

Okay rant over - back to the craziness!

Misbehaving!

Being the family rowdies we started making faces for the camera. K held the camera and I pushed up her nose. Only family! K is a flight attendant and taught my mom(and I) how to demonstrate the exits on the plane. There are 6 exits in this metal tube called an aircraft. There are two over the wings, two at the front and two at the back(or rear I can't remember). In case of a crash we wish you the best of luck finding one! Have a pleasent trip and than you for flying #$&&^& Airline. I asked for a demo with the safety card but alas she wouldn't(but there was one in her friends bag right there!) She also didn't have one of those handy dandy seat belts. Next time K - next time!
PS Italics by c'est moi - those are not part of the actual drill - shocking I know Posted by Picasa

Miss K

K(my cousin) and I sat next to each other during the reception. We both love this photo as we each only have one chin. LOL! Posted by Picasa

A bit of this and that!

K and T got married yesterday. It was HOT HOT HOT out there on the water but we peeled ourselves off the chairs after the ceremony and went in search of drinkable water! The bride of course looked great and the weather was sunny. I am surprised no one fainted during the ceremony as the guys all had tuxes on. I have some great pics from the wedding but it will have to wait for tomorrow as I am too lazy to haul myself from this chair to get the camera from down stairs.

We skipped church this morning (I know naughty naughty) J man slept in so we did too. Then we had a 2 hour nap later – ahh bliss the Sunday nap. Haven’t gone to the gym in a few days and am feeling like a bloated sea cow! I also ran out of thyroid pills (need to remember to pick those up tomorrow) which without them I gain weight just by breathing it seems! Starbucks Frappes just seem to call my name – “E come get me! I am yummy!" Last time the girl didn’t put any whipping cream on mine – you think she was giving me a hint (skinny little snot!) Well I should go to sleep as J and I are going on a play date tomorrow (doesn’t that sound so important and special – so much better than having coffee with a friend while our kids beat on each other and destroy the house!) Mr. J

My sweet baby gave me a kiss today. Very wet and slobbery and promptly followed by a head but. My nose is still a little sore! It was so sweet - made me all mushy. There is nothing to compare it to. R is at a football game tonight so I have been enjoying the quiet. Tomorrow my cousin K is getting married so another busy busy weekend. TTFN

Workin it!

I DID IT! I went ot the gym. Squeezed myself into a pair of tight gym pants, and went. As with most gyms it was filled with skinny workout nymphs and J and I. J with her brand new runners (aka bright white) and my new pants (black – not faded!) screamed NEWBIES. One rather buff woman was doing all these weights and an abs workout on the mats. Then she announced to her friend that she was going to run for an hour. Excuse me? An hour? Running? So J and I are dying at 3.2 on the treadmill and she is jogging at 6.5. Of course she did have to pick the machine next to me. Why???? Pick a machine somewhere alone so I don’t have to feel like the before shot to your after! Anyway J and I wrapped up and then picked up our new membership cards – which really do look like before shots! Tomorrow it is Dance Class – shake it, shake it!

Flying my freak flag!

Today I am flying my freak flag. Look at me I am a nut. What made me one step closer to a padded room you ask? The DENTIST! I ventured to the dentist today in an effort to pay for another of the many office reno's or perhaps a weekend trip to Palm Springs for the doctor.

Every visit starts off the same - that nasty gritty polish! With all the technology today you'd think they could come up with some way to polish your teeth without that nasty grit! It is gross - kind of like eating a handful of sand. Can anyone enjoy that??? Then they cram that large gag inducing plastic thing in your mouth to take x-rays. So I am covered up with a lead vest with drool starting to seep out the corners of my mouth. I count backwards from 10 to 1 so that I don't gag and chuck all over the new floors (that my root canal in December paid for). Yes I am a glamour queen.

My poor dentist - he is so very nice to me - I think they have flagged my file with a red sticker that says "freak, nut case, loony bin escapee". He offers me sedatives with every visit. Do you think that is for me or for him?
