Christmas Conversation with J-man

Me : J go see Daddy and he'll get you some milk

J-man : No, Juey (aka Juice)

Me : Sorry buddy milk for breakfast

J wanders into the kitchen hoping to sucker daddy into some juice

Ry : Hey J, do you want some milk?

J : peees peeees (aka Please)

Ry opens the fridge door and goes to get the milk jug

J : Nog Nog, Nog Nog, peeees peeees

Ry : You want Egg Nog?

J : peeees peees Nog Nog (while maniacally signing please and jumping around in desperation)

I will never call Egg Nog it's proper name ever again! It shall forever be called Nog Nog around here!

Below are a few photos from Christmas. In a few days I'll update J-crew with more . If you are on Facebook you can view our Christmas album there.

Merry Christmas

We have been very busy this last week. We have all struggled with a cold and are now feeling better, just in time for Christmas. I will be taking several days off from blogging to enjoy some family time. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas.

Luke 2
The Birth of Jesus
1 At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire. 2 (This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census. 4 And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. 5 He took with him Mary, his fiancĂ©e, who was now obviously pregnant.

6 And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. 7 She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.

The Shepherds and Angels
8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. 9 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, 10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

15 When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. 17 After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. 18 All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, 19 but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. 20 The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.

Have you ever...

Seen such a cute bathing suit????
We spent Friday night out at Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa. One of the companies Ryan works with took us out to the Copper Room and then put us up in the hotel. We left J-man with my parents so we were back to only having one child for a day. Baby G also surprised us by taking a bottle the other day so I didn't have to nurse in the restaurant which was nice for me!

We missed J-man but had such a nice time. We took baby G into the pools with us (no we didn't dip her in the really hot one or the outdoor ones) She loved them - I think we were in there for 45 minutes and she just cuddled with us. I'll try and post on J-crew next week with all the photos of the last few weeks as we have been very busy.

I have lots to catch up with in blog world but we are have Christmas today with Ry's family so I better get going as I have lots of wrapping to do ;-)

Two peas in a pod

We were gone all weekend - we went to The Lights of Christmas. We decided that because of the kids we'd stay at the B&B part of it so that we didn't have to drive 2.5 hours each way in the same day.

As we are going to sleep on Saturday in our room. Ry lets out a fart(big shocker I know!), to which my sweet son says "ooooohhh" and then proceeds to rip one off in response. Boys! Young or old it doesn't seem to matter.

Kosher Ham and a bit of wind!

Some weird stories on yahoo today that made me laugh.

A store in New York had a sign up offering ham for hanukkah...ummm not so kosher!

And an old man get a letter about his farting! and I quote :
  • "It's only a little bit of wind -- it doesn't really hurt anyone. I sit by the door anyway and try to get out when I can. But sometimes it takes me by surprise and just pops out,"
Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm a Nutter

I did something i have never done before - I bought a CD based on nothing but the title!

I was @ House Of James on the weekend and bought Relient K's Christmas album. I have never heard of them and didn't know what style they were.

The title that got me - Let it snow baby...Let it reindeer! It appealed to my weird sense of humor!

Luckily I like the CD!

Snow!

Ever year I have been slow in booking an appointment for us for Christmas photos. This year I booked super early (I think in September) for today. Wouldn't you know it - the skies have blessed us with abundant white stuff! Since the portrait place is a 30 minute drive down the freeway - which from looking at the highway cams isn't too good - we have decided not to risk our family for a set of photos. I tried to reschedule but they have nothing until the new year. I realize I have a camera and can take a photo but it won't be easy to wrangle my son into it - but I suppose we'll spend the rest of the day trying to create a backdrop at home and then bribe J-man into sitting pretty for me! then I'll go off to Costco and buy the photo greeting cards! Just goes to show you that being the eager beaver doesn't get me anything ;-)

Happy snow day!

One Month

My sweet baby girl is one month old! I can't believe how much faster it is going this time. She is a much easier baby than J-man so I think that helps ;-) Last night she even gave me a gift of 5 1/2 hours of sleep...in a row!

Sometimes I look at her and can't believe how much I love her(and J-man) - yet a bit more than a month ago she wasn't even here. She is growing so quickly and already I can see how much she is changing.

Have a good weekend - let it snow!!!!!

A new day!

Today was much better - both kids slept in - well Baby G woke but went back down after a feed. They let me sleep till 9am - so I felt much better.

I even got a few things done around the house today. My sister said today was better because God knew he couldn't give me two bad days in a row!

A few photos of the many moods of Ej - yes I am a sick and twisted individual ;-)

If mama ain't happy nobody is happy!

I woke on the wrong side of the bed this morning - all three times I was up ;-)

J-man seems to know that my patience is running low and has been very demanding. Baby G has also been very needy today - perhaps an upset tummy.

I feel like a lousy mom and have been short with them all day - and trying to count to ten many times as it isn't their fault I am a crab!

It is dark as can be outside and has been all day. It felt like late afternoon at 9am this morning - which didn't help the sour mood.

I didn't get a shower today even - I only got dressed at 3:30pm - I threw on some makeup and brushed my teeth just so I didn't feel like a total slob!

I hate being crabby - I can hear G waking up from her wee little nap so I better get back at it ;-)

I know why!

I now know why my parents are crazy!

It was my sister and I that did it to them - just like my kids are slowly making me crazy!

Today wasn't even a bad day!

I think the sleep deprivation is getting to me - Ry and I tried to talk during dinner and I was making no sense!

Bless the man - he sent me upstairs for 30 minutes of kid free time! A time out for mom!

Confessions

Okay - you got me!

I have a confession to make.

Please don't think less of me ;-)

I am totally excited to get the new Celine Dion album.

So now it is out there - I am a Celine fan - give me a good 90's power ballad!!! I have almost all of her english albums and haven't bought the new one as Christmas is right around the corner(hint hint family!!) but I really want it!!!

Okay - I feel better for getting that off my chest!

Brain Burp

I can think of lots of things to blog about at 2 am but for some reason when I sit down at the computer my brain takes a time out and nothing comes to me.

J-man is in full crazy two year old mode right now. I am hoping my happy little boy of old will come back soon. Today he tried to hit baby G with a wooden train, hit me because I wasn't able to pick him up, screamed through a part of dinner and then yelled a bunch undecipherable words at Ry when he picked up baby G. Good times in our household!!

Last night baby G decided she didn't want to go to sleep till 1am - Ry stayed up with her as I was exhausted and had a bad headache - which combined to make me rather emotional. I was spent so my fabulous hubby took pity on me. Gave me a hug and sent me to bed. I am praying for better night tonight!

I have updated J-crew with new photos of the kids - once again if you want to view the blog just email me.

GG - Stop

Last night we were at my parents and we changed the kids into their pj's before we left. J-man and my mom were lying in front of the fire place and my mom started singing him a lullaby. He looked up at her and said"sssssstop" in a hushed tone.

It was so funny - we all burst out laughing to which he whispered "shhhhh" to the rest of us!

Such an imp!

Mama Mia!

Jackson has now started to freak out! So we are having lots of tantrums! I feel like all I do is discipline him or talk harshly! He has been refusing to get dressed in the morning and then refusing to change his diaper all day. He also thinks of me as his personal punching/hitting bag - which he has never done before so we have been laying down the hammer on that one! As for getting dressed - it has to happen so it tends to be a time of tears (his or mine take your pick!) and then a time out followed by a cuddle and make up time! I have been telling him he needs to say sorry - it sounds so cute!

My mom tells me this too shall pass! Please may it pass quickly! I hear my little princess crying for some food so adios!

Time

I don't know how moms with 2 or more kids blog ;-) I seem to have no time to think about a post let alone write a post! Baby G is still doing really well - and I actually don't feel too tired. She is only waking 2 times a night which helps. J-man was up 4 times a night till he was 4 months old - nearly killed me!

J-man is doing really well with the adjustment - he doesn't care if I hold baby G but if daddy has her - yikes! This has made it easier for me as he seems to just accept that I need to feed or carry G around a lot. Sadly it means Ry hasn't had as much time with her - but I am trying to give them time together after J has gone to bed - I also can get things done without worrying that she'll wake J. Of course J has distanced himself from me a bit too much for my liking - so today I tried to spend some extra time with him. He has never been a cuddle monkey but we did have our special things. Such as I always give him a 'ride' down the stairs after his nap. Sadly I was told I wasn't allowed to lift him for at least 2 weeks post delivery so that has been hard to lose the ability to carry him. I often feel that both kids are being denied me but I know it is just learning to spread one person among two little ones instead of one to one.

Luckily we are starting to see a bit of a routine - everything takes longer but I have been trying to keep J-man's routine similar to before and develop one for G. So far so good - I have managed to shower everyday! We'll see how long it last ;-)

Deliver me! - Warning marathon post!

Well this labor was so different from J-man's(which was several days and although tiring I felt really able to cope the whole time). This time - yikes - quick delivery's are a bit overwhelming.

With your second baby they don't consider you to be in active labor till you are 4 cm or your water breaks. Regardless of the contractions you are having! Which at the time made me rather mad! So due to this technicality I was considered to be in active labor for 24 minutes! Yup you read that right - not 24 minutes of pushing but 24 minutes of labor!

Anyway back to the beginning - I woke up at 3 am with contractions - no big deal there as I have had them for weeks - esp at night. I went to the bathroom and moved around and unlike usual they didn't go away. After an hour of 4 minute apart contractions I woke Ry - just to let him know. At 5 am(an hour later) I called the midwife - who told me I didn't sound cranky enough yet(this was early yet and I knew it but due to being Strep B positive they had told me to call asap if the contractions were less than 5 minutes apart!). I was to call her back if my water broke or when the contractions were stronger.

At 10 am I called again - and we decided to go to the hospital to be assessed. At 11:30 I was assessed at 2 cm - which I was disappointed by. The midwife also swept my membranes - which was not my favourite part let me tell ya! This made my contractions go NUTS! We decided to give it an hour - so the midwife went for lunch and since the maternity department was slow they let me stay and wait there. At 1pm I was assessed at 3cm - I couldn't believe it as I was having contractions that were so strong (similar to the end of my labor with J-man). The midwife swept my membranes again (why she didn't just hit me over the head with a bat I don't know) so my contractions again increased even further as they hadn't calmed down at all from before. They decided to start my antibiotics - and if I was still 4cm in an hour they would send me home. Which I point blank said there is no way I can walk out of here - it is not possible - so you better resign yourself to the fact that I will sit here until you carry me there then!

At 1:20 they started my IV, at 1:35 my sister (who was with us) called my mom to say she would need to come to the hospital as she could not handle it anymore! Poor girl - I don't know if she 'll ever have kids now ;-) Marcy(my sister) came back in and Ry went to go check on the car as it was only in 2 hour parking. While he was gone I felt my water break(1:45) I was really disappointed as I knew my contractions would increase then and I didn't know how I was going to handle it getting any worse. Then I got the joy of being sick while having contractions - super fun! I remember telling my sister that I was so upset that my water had broken and my labor was not going the way I had hoped. She rubbed my back and was a great support person. Ry got back to the room at 1:50.

I remember this time as very intense as the contractions were very strong and close together. The midwife was beside me and I told her I starting to get the urge to push - but I knew there was no way it could be so soon. She agreed that it probably was and told me to pant through them. So for the next 2 I did, after which I couldn't have stopped the pushing if you held a gun to my head. The midwife was looking at my tummy rather strangely(the cord was so short that every time I had a contraction my uterus would come down with the baby - and you could watch it happen from the outside - she had never seen this before - like most things I am weird even in delivery) So since she could tell that the baby was coming down she checked me again and said I was fully dilated - we were all shocked by this. So at 2 :00 I started pushing and at 2:09 Baby G was here!

I went into shock kind of after - shivering away on the bed staring at my sweet girl - in wonder of how fast it had all gone! Recovery wise I am in much better shape than post J-man - and way less tired. So for that I am happy to have had a baby at warp speed - but I felt out of control and unsure of what was happening the whole time. As well because I hadn't even gotten a full dose of the antibiotics I had to stay in the hospital overnight which was also not my plan. So I felt out of sorts about the birth but was so happy it was over and delighted in my little girl!

She is doing really well - a much easier baby than J-man. I am also a lot calmer having done this before ;-) J-man also got late onset Jaundice and had to be hospitalized when he was a week only - I was really nervous about this and had been praying my whole pregnancy that this baby would not get it. God is good - and she is so far not jaundice at all - which is a first for the family(as in nieces, nephews) as all the babies have had it to one degree or another on Ry's side.

Now it is time for this no longer pregnant lady(yeah!) to get to bed!

New Do

First up - my new hair do - so much quicker! Loving my new hairdresser too - had to boot the old one after the 3rd mullet cut!

Hmmmm - blogger isn't letting me upload photos - I have seen this on a few blogs today - if you are on facebook there is a pic up there on my profile - until then imagine me looking good - LOL!

No baby yet - and not even an inkling that it may happen soon - darn it! J-man did a mini assessment today on his words and he has learned 40 words in the last month - which is HUGE! I was very excited to learn that - although I knew he had made some great leaps in language lately! We are now on a 5 week break - and will start again in December with his development therapy.

Daily Double

If you guessed my cankles you are correct ;-)

In other news - I got my hair cut - I'll try and take a pic tomorrow - basically I cut off the bit that was making me have a mullet!

A big congrats to Lisa - on her great news!

J-man was born on a full moon - so here's to hoping that this weekend is the big event. I jokingly told my sister that after my haircut today and my eyebrow wax tomorrow morning I was good to have a baby. I don't want to go into labour at night again as then I'd be tired before I even start - but hey - who's being picky ;-) So I have requested tomorrow afternoon- don't you wish you could put in a request like that!

Ry needs the computer so I better get off so he can work!

Got it flaunt it???

Last night Ry and I went to the Brad Paisley concert - which was GREAT! The drive in the rain was nuts - I think a boat would have been better transportation!

I have been to a few concerts this year and have noticed a trend - young girls putting everything they have on display! Where is the respect for themselves? Did their mothers not teach them a thing? I understand as a woman that if I flash a bit of cleavage - I may render some men completely stupid! But they aren't going to pay attention to me because of what I am saying or what I stand for they are simply staring at my boobs!

There was a group of young girls in front of us last night - I highly doubt they were out of high school. Either GM place doesn't ID people or someone bought their beer for them but they were very excited to be drinking! Don't even get me started on the waste of money that beer is at GM place! Anyway as they nursed their beers they jumped around and talked to any male that walked by. At one point they were joined by several and were dancing(more like grinding) their way through the aisle.

As I watched their display (they blocked my view of the stage) it struck me what a weight I have to carry as a parent. To teach my son(s) to look for women who love themselves and have some grace and dignity, that as men they should not base their respect for women on the 'assets' being displayed. I want J-man and any other sons I have to see a woman's character as well as her physical beauty. I want to teach my daughter(s) that they deserve more than being oogled by men they don't know, that their mind is more important than their boobs, that if they have to dumb themselves down and shake their bits all over to get attention - it may not be the type of attention they want!

On the drive home I couldn't stop thinking about how I have to train my kids to love themselves and find value in themselves - then we hit a huge puddle and hydroplaned - which ended all thought and started a spousal argument about safe driving and having two hands on the wheel ;-)

West Coast Women's Show

My sister and I went of to the West Coast Women's show today for a few hours. She wanted to check it out and I was desperate to be kid free for a few hours. With Ry working 60+ hours a week J-man and I get to Saturday afternoon and seem to always be at odds. Which leads to a cranky toddler and a frazzled mom!

So off we went to try samples of fruit juice and water, and be accosted by every direct sales company around! It was nice ;-) My legs swelled up something fierce so my sister put some moisturizer on them and rubbed my ankles for me! What a sweetie!

I was a calm somewhat rational woman a few hours later and J-man had spent some quality time with Daddy and was happy too! Not much else going on - still pregnant - my cousin Kevin said he thinks Wednesday looks good for me to have this baby - I am all for it ;-)

Swiper, no swiping!

Me : Swiper no swiping.
J-man : Ahhhhhh maaaaaaan!

Me : Who do we ask for help when we don't know which way to go?
J-man : Maaaaaaaap!

Anyone else have a child completely addicted to Dora the Explorer or Dorie as she is called by J-man? I am trying to interest him in Diego - as it has less pink ;-) but so far Dorie is #1!

Tuesday, October 16, 2007

Lets get it started!

I have had several episodes of contractions but nothing that lasts more than a few hours! If this was the same as J-man I would give birth tomorrow! I am getting annoyed though with contractions coming and going. I know it is a good thing as it 'ripens' the cervix but I am not feeling very patient right now! Everyone in my family is waiting and I am feeling a little under the microscope! I know it could be weeks away still - which is making me crazy just thinking about it! Today's list of Prepare for Baby is to pack my hospital bag and continue to clean out the office which is currently half nursery half office! The office half is looking pretty rough so I suppose I should get off this computer and get in gear ;-)

Feeling nesty!

I am on a mission - to organize everything I can. Today I woke up from my nap (I was ordered to nap every afternoon by my midwife!) with the need to get somethings ready for Baby G. So we dragged all the boxes out of the crawl space, sorted clothes, washed blankets and made an enormous mess!

We are no where near ready but at least now I have my change table all set up ;-) I need to wash the covers of the car seat and bouncy chair as well as do a few more loads of baby laundry - we discovered that the ducting from our dryer was held together with duct tape (which isn't made for duct work by the way!) So the tape had given way at some point and now there is a large amount of dryer lint all over the area of the crawl space where the baby stuff was stored. I don't think it has been going on too long but it sure is dusty down there now! It also explains why suddenly the house is full of dust no matter how much I swiffer!

Time for bed as J-man has his weekly speech therapy tomorrow so we have to be up early!

Let'er Rip!

The end of pregnancy is so glamorous! Lately the way this baby is sitting makes the intestines a little mad. Resulting in you guessed it but loud farts that I have no control over! I mean no control. I will be walking and they just happen. Which often results in me being totally embarrassed. We all let'em rip occasionally but don't we try and keep it down when in public???

Today my sister and I were in Sears buying J-man a car seat. His was a hand me down that was a bit too old and I was getting nervous about it. So when I opened the flyer today and saw them on sale I was on a mission. I marched off the elevator and as I am doing my purposeful stride to the car seat department - one rips out. My sister gaped at me in shock. Not that I could create such noise - but that I did it right there where anyone could hear. I quietly explained to her that my body was just impossible to control anymore and just to be thankful that is was noise not stink I was shooting! She started ducking behind racks to avoid further embarrassment.

I found a car seat that I liked and of course it was on the bottom shelf. So I bent down to get a closer look. Wouldn't you know it another zips out, which makes Marcy and I burst out laughing which in turn causes a few more to fly! I am now laughing so hard I am sitting on the ground with tears rolling down my face, and Marcy is hanging onto J-man's stroller trying to catch her breath. I am pretty sure there were several people who heard - I wanted to die. But I really needed the car seat so I regained what small amount of dignity I could muster and got a sales clerk to ring in my purchase - and then we fled! So if you were in the baby department of Sears today and were disgusted by some crazy farting lady - it was me and I am sorry ;-)

35 weeks and counting!

Here is another preggo EJ shot - 35 1/2 weeks! Also included are various members of my family - more photos are posted up on J-man's blog (again send me an email if you want access but don't have it!)
This is J-man looking rather fierce - I think it is one of my favourite photos of him though! Such a stinker my boy!

I worked my last shift today. Bye Bye work - at least for 52 weeks. It was very sad to leave today. I will miss it.

Attitude of Gratitude

We went to church this morning and the message was great. All on being grateful for what we have - rather than wanting more. Rather than wanting a bigger house or car, a better vacation or whatever - the message was all about being content with what you have. Especially when you consider that many people around the world - and even right down the street from us are suffering for basics like food and water.

We haven't even been at this church for a year yet we we discovered their annual tradition. In most churches I have attended they do the regular offering(to cover expenses etc. like usual) and then a second offering that is donated to a food bank etc. Southside only does one offering and donates everything received - this year to a project that is aimed at getting relief to people in Uganda. There was also a donor(not sure if through the project or from our church) that would donate 5 times whatever was received. 30,000 children died today from starvation - hopefully initiatives like this will reduce that.

I was so happy though to hear that my church was taking everything given and giving it away. What an incredible step of faith. I don't know the financials of Southside but having been involved with several churches in ministry it seems that money is always short and that people are always worried that there won't be enough. I have never been to a church where they were willing to give everything they received to something else. I felt it was a great example on how we as a congregation should deal with our own income.

Things I Am Grateful For

1. Jesus - after all without him we have nothing!
2. My amazing hubby - he is a blessing to me and J-man
3. J-man and Baby G - little miracles
4. The rest of our crazy families
5. Shelter, Clothing, Food, Water - the things we forget and take for granted
6. Friends
7. My job - sadly only one more shift and then I am off - I am actually sad about that ;-)
8. My health
9. Freedom - to believe what I want, to say what I feel, to be where I am
10.Today - I am grateful that I am alive today. To see the rain and eat Turkey!

Blessings!

It's the final count down!

Yesterday I did a Superstore run and purchased newborn diapers! For some reason that made me freak out - I AM HAVING A BABY SOON! I know that you are shocked by this announcement. I realize that I am pregnant - putting on socks is a whole new experience these days usually involving grunts and groans. Yet somehow the reality of actually having a baby again is wigging me out.

I am going to have kids. Shouldn't I have had to take a test or proved I am capable of such a thing! The baby items are stacking up in preparation - car seat - check, diapers - check, clothes - check. Yet I really don't feel prepared. I have done it before so I am sure it will all come back to me but ack how did I do this before????

I delivered early with J-man - so they think I may be early again (kind of cruel to say that to an enormously pregnant woman don't you think?). If I delivered the same day as I did last time I have 2 weeks left! But if I go late I could end up being pregnant for up to 5 weeks more than I was last time!

Well as J-man would say it is time for "nigh nigh"

Workin' Man

Ry has been working lots of extra hours these past 2 weeks - which is great for the budget but hard of me and J-man. Today I think J-man really noticed that Daddy was gone again. He gave me attitude all day - even my sister noticed he seemed cranky. Luckily Ry came home a bit early and him and J-man played together all night. I think J is sick of seeing my face - this morning when I went to get him from his bed - he looked at me and said "No no no" - Saturday mornings are usually Dad and J time - so much for thinking he didn't know what day it was ;-)

I only work another 4 shifts - which I am happy and sad about. Happy because waddling around is getting on my nerves and sad to be leaving a job and people I like. I have been really tired lately which is due to being anemic I think but I also just don't have the energy I normally do. I'll be glad when I don't have to worry about packing lunches for J and myself and making sure I have 'work' clothes. I am growing out of most of them right now so I wear the same few outfits over and over. They are comfortable clothes but it does mean I have to do a lot of laundry ;-)

As a funny side note - now that I really am the size of a small country people are telling me how small I look! Go figure!

I haven't taken any pictures lately so here is sunset shot from August. I already miss summer!

How to make a toddler mad!

J-man has has a stuffy nose the last day. I wasn't sure if he was getting something or if he just had a big ol' booger up there. Last night Ry managed to fish out a nice booger but this morning I could hear his nose whistle! So I decided to try and help things along. A little saline spray up the nostril was the plan.

So I got the saline spray, took the cap off, gave it a few squirts to make sure it was working and went in search of my poor unsuspecting son.

I tried the sneak attack first - no luck. Those little arms are quick.

Next I pinned him down - or should I say attempted to pin him down. I think it would have taken 4 full grown men to get this kid down. Being as I am only one woman - I got saline all over me but none even remotely close to J or his nose.

I just about gave up as I now had a mad crying toddler with a stuffy nose. So I slinked off to the kitchen to regroup and formulate a new game plan. Perhaps the crying would do the job for me - so I grabbed a cloth(to wipe tears up), and the saline (on the odd chance I could get some in there) and approached again.

Well arms flailed, tears came and not a drop of saline was used. I almost conceded defeat - and thought that J-man would have a whistling nose forever when I saw a booger. Hanging on for dear life inside that little nose. I attacked with renewed vigor and apprehended the evil morsel.

The whistle is now gone! Isn't being a mom so glamorous???

Rest in Peace

I noticed something yesterday. Facebook is full of groups dedicated to people who have passed away. I even belong to the one for Nate. One thing I have seen repeatedly in some of these groups is people writing RIP or Rest in Peace. Nate's group doesn't have this saying (maybe once but I am not sure)

I find the whole RIP thing a little too Halloween. It makes me think of cardboard cut out graves that people stick in their front yard in an attempt to scare people. The other thing that it says to me is that the person who wrote it is unsure of whether the person who died is in a 'better' place. I know Nate is in heaven. Therefore there is no need to say rest in peace - he is at peace. The people who need peace are those left behind. Grieve and wait for peace seems to be a better saying - but the initials don't work as well ;-)

Yesterday was 2 months since Nate died. The family is on my mind and heart daily. I lift them up in prayer whenever I think of them. If you haven't gotten a chance I recommend Rosanna's blog. She has written some beautiful things and been so honest in her grief over losing her husband. I don't know Rosanna that well but as her sister in Christ I grieve with her. My favourite post of hers is where she asks "Does Jesus really love me?" Rosanna's honesty in her struggle through this and her unwavering strength in Jesus is beautiful and inspiring.

Terrible Two's???

Okay fellow moms I need ideas. J-man is driving me bonkers these days - very clingy, wanting to be held all the time(usually to see what I am doing) and whining. He has also figured out that he doesn't have to listen to me! Before a raised voice was enough to get him to stop or at least stop long enough for us to prevent massive disaster. Now he just continues on his way. Therefore I am having a hard time getting anything done - such as making dinner, loading the dishwasher, going to the bathroom ;-)

He may have a had a bit of a bug - the daycare he goes to had a bit of a diarrhea outbreak last week! Apparently the cramping is quite painful. His diapers have been runnier than normal but nothing too bad and today it seemed pretty much back to normal. No fever, teeth are all in, sleeping well, eating well.

I don't know if it is because daycare is so fun and there is so much activity that when he is home with me it is boring. He is good at playing by himself - or he used to be. So perhaps I was spoiled. Noe he'll play by himself but only if I am sitting in the same room - and preferably watching him. Although he usually doesn't want me to play with him - don't mess with Thomas or McQueen!! If I leave the room - even if it is just around the corner to the kitchen he is whining and crawling up my legs. Pushing/pulling me away from the sink, stove, table etc. The only time he isn't crawling up my legs is when he is watching TV/DVD. I am trying to get him to watch less TV as when we were all sick he watched quite a bit.

So my question to you - what sort of activities can I give him to keep him busy but out of trouble? Keeping in mind that due to his developmental delays he is about 18 months in language, and his sensory system is easily overloaded. Ideas, suggestions, sympathy ;-)

Feeling Better & thank you for the Roll Kuchen

The antibiotics finally kicked in last night and my sinuses unplugged - they still hurt last night but the pressure was gone which was huge! Today they were a bit fierce for a few hours but I think that was because I got dehydrated as once I drank about 3 glasses of water they chilled out. I am on cloud nine as I finally see wellness coming round the corner ;-)

I spent the day at the MCC fair. I help with the $$$ so I rolled coin and ate Roll Kuchen - so yummy. I think Running Wildly best explains the love of my life - Roll Kuchen and watermelon - does it get any better????

I have posted some new videos on J-man's blog (it is private but if you want an invite just send me an email). Ry and I have decided to try and post most of photos and videos of our kids on that blog - this is just to be safe. What can I say? I thrive on being neurotic ;-) I will post here when baby G is born but after that most family stuff will move over there.

arrrr

Tried to nap but the sinus pain was too much! I am having a hard time right now with being sick so much. Ry jokingly said it is because I am over 30 now! I am cranky about being sick and not being a very good mommy as I just lie around like a blob doing very little with J-man. Luckily he is very independent but I still feel like he's watching too much TV rather than spending time with me. So far my antibiotics aren't doing anything - I hope they kick in soon. The pain seems to go in spurts - I feel pretty good for an hour and then it will kick in and my face will throb for a few hours. Right now I am in the throbbing part - OUCH! My teeth even hurt. I feel like my health is being attacked so I have been praying lots - hopefully tomorrow will be a new day and I'll be feeling better.

Question of the day.

To nap or not to nap?

My sinus infection is back - so I am not feeling so great - got some antibiotics this time though. I wake up feeling great but with in 2-3 hours feel horrible. J-man only naps once a day though and I have so much to do. If I nap when he does chances are nothing will get done today. Hmmmm I shall have to weigh the options.

Bathing Suit shot(told you I was crazy!) and other Stuff

We were in Vernon last weekend to see my "Grandparents" - technically not related but that's not important ;-)

Irene has a stroke a few months ago and wasn't expected to live but she has pulled through and while there are definite signs left from the stroke she is still a pistol! We forgot to get a picture with Harold - we felt a little dumb about that!

We stayed in the same hotel we always do - they have the coolest pool area - right int he middle of the hotel and filled with plants (palm trees etc.) Therefore you get to see me in all my pregnant
glory - 31 weeks and I am posting a photo of me in a bathing suit! I must be nuts! Thanks to everyone who said I was looking great in my last post - I feel like and enormous whale so it was nice to hear.

I am also in the klutzy stage - you'll remember the Starbucks incident of last week - today it was a bag of flour - I had just filled my flour container and managed to tilt it towards myself as I was putting it away in one of my top cupboards. You can see the results! This is a small snip-it of the mess I am still in process of cleaning up!

Crazy Mom = Crazy Kid

Today at Minter Gardens we were trying to get a picture of J-man and I. Of course he was in no mood to cooperate - so I held him upside down - which at least got us smiling! Little imp child!

* You can't really see a side view but this is 31 weeks - 9 weeks left - PANIC!!!!

Counting

A little counting - J-man has now forgotten four - everything is 2! Funny little man.

Tuesday, September 04, 2007

I just can't catch a break!

**Update - I got a nose spray from my doctor which has helped - it is suppose to make the sinuses drain. She wants me to wait and see if it gets worse before giving me antibiotics - which when I am feeling rational I am glad about - but when she first suggested it I nearly strangled her with her stethoscope! I promptly continued on my why can't anything go my way day when I dumped a grande americano over in my car - yes the whole thing! They nicely gave me a new one for free- but I was late for my appointment with the midwife and surprise surprise I had rather high blood pressure! The things that happen to me!!! LOL!

First I had a bladder and kidney infection - which took 2 months to get diagnosed. Then I got a cold during the first half of my holidays, and now I have moved on to a sinus infection for the second half of my holidays. Ry and J-man are also feeling under the weather.

I've never had a sinus infection before - let me tell ya - they're not fun! My face is so sore. My teeth and jaw even ache. I just want to feel good! Last night I hardly slept and now feel even worse than I did yesterday! How is that possible?? Every time I think I am feeling as tired and miserable as I possibly can it gets worse!

I really wanted to enjoy these 2 weeks off just hanging out with J and Ry. So I am also disappointed that the majority of the time we have felt horrible and have been blowing our noses non stop! Of course I can't blow my nose right now because it hurts too much!

Not to be all doom and gloom - J-man has learned to say night. When we tuck him in for bed or a nap we always say "nigh, night" Two days ago he started saying it to us. It is so cute! You pick him up and tell him it is time for bed and he calls out "nigh nigh" to anyone who happens to be in the room. Just now as we put him in bed for his nap he looked up at Ry and said "nigh nigh daddy" So cute! He is making so many developments with language right now! I'll have to post on his blog soon about all that stuff!

Holidays

Ry and I are both on holidays for the next two weeks. We don't have any plans to go anywhere - as there is no money in the vacation fund ;-) We went to the PNE on Monday with Travis, Rose, and Spencer. It was quite busy and a bit over whelming for J-man. Still it was fun and he did better than I thought he would. Below is J-man watching the talent contest while Spencer had a diaper change. Ry is lucky he still has hair as J-man likes to grip on for dear life!

Today my dad and I pruned all the trees in my yard. Well Dad pruned and I dragged the light stuff to the truck. I forgot to take before and after shots. Now it looks rather barren - the plants need a good hack every couple years. They have an amazing way of growing back. Our neighbor used to look after the trees out there but she moved so I dragged my recently retired dad out to do some slave labor!

Not much else going on - I am getting nice and big - my ankles have cankle days and breathing can be difficult especially when sitting on a couch or anything that seems to envelope you. Luckily I haven't gotten stuck anywhere yet!

Conversation with J-man

Me : One
J : Two
Me : Three
J: Fooo
Me: Five
J : Si (sound like six in French actually!)
Me : Seven
J : Eigh (think eh)
Me : Nine
J : Ten (although the n is soft so sometimes it sounds like teeee)

I noticed him counting like this the other day with a DVD he has. At first I thought I was hearing things but sure enough - he counts to 10 - but only the even numbers - go figure!

Last night we were at a my Godfather's birthday party. He is a new grandpa and the little baby was there. J did really well and actually seemed totally thrilled with the baby. Even when I held Baby C - he just wanted a turn holding him too - didn't care about me holding or cuddling this bundle. He would look at the baby and say "Baby, baby, baby" it was rather cute. Today I asked him

Are we going to have a baby soon? - he nodded yes
Are you going to be nice to the baby? He shakes his head no - which I thought was rather funny - I guess we'll see in a few months!
Last I asked but you still love mom and dad right? He nods yes

Now that he is comprehending at least some of what we say he is quite the comic!

Watermark - Arise and Be Comforted

Arise and be comforted
For the Lord, He is good to the weary
And even the young heart can tire and fall
But He knows them all
For the Lord, He will renew their strength
And they will soar on wings as eagles
And they will run and never grow weary
They will walk and not grow faint
For the Lord, He is good

Lift your eyes to the heavens
For the creator is living in you
Come surrender as you are
And know that you’ll never stray too far
Let His power within you heal your heart
Lift your eyes to spacious skies
Let Him chart your way to flight
Spread your wings and fly
For the Lord, He is good

It has been one month since Nate died. My prayers are with Rosanna and the rest of the family as they mark today.

Please leave comments here (imagine arrow pointing at my belly!)

Reason #6002 why I love dealing with the public - they give you insult complements! Never heard this phrase? I have made it up - it is when someone(usually older) tries to give you a compliment but adds a slight insult to it - unintentionally. This is not to be confuse with false compliments - where someone purposely adds something nasty to a compliment in an effort to be cruel!

Today's winners :

Mr S : "If you are feeling self conscious don't - you look great!" Ah thanks for that - wasn't feeling self conscious though! Quite the opening line there!

Co-worker L : "You've really blossomed while I was on holidays last week"

Sister Marcy: "Those things are huge!" Said in shock and horror - about my boobs.

Tomorrow I am 28 weeks! This time it is going much faster (well once I stopped feeling sick it has - I think time stands still when you are bowing to the throne!) 7-8 weeks left of working and 2 of those are holidays! I'll really miss all the sweet things people say to me ;-) LOL!

Knock on Wood???

J-man has been showing signs of interest in sleeping in a bed(rather than a crib). I was hesitant to move him as change is not something he usually deals well with. But today I got some sort of wild whim and I pulled the mattress out of the crib and put it on the floor next to the empty crib. I thought he might tell me to put it back in but instead he got up on the mattress and jumped a bit then toodled off to play.

So at nap time I put him on the mattress, gave him his blanket and left the room. I totally expected him to get up and follow me but he stayed there and went to sleep. When he woke I heard him yabber so I went into his room and he was still on his bed, smiling up at me.

I called Ry and my sister to tell them of this shocking development. Neither of them could believe it either.

Tonight I had to go out so Ry had to put J to bed alone. I told him to keep it light and if he freaked out we'd just pitch the mattress back in the crib and try his nap tomorrow(I'll post soon on J's blog about his appointment with the occupational therapist). I came home expecting that the nap was fluke but no, he had gone to bed without incident with his mattress still on the floor.

So now we wait and see how the night goes. So far not a peep - I just wonder what time we'll be getting up tomorrow!

Something to think about...

I saw this article linked on another blog - so I read it (4 pages long but worth it). I so become like this at times - and I can list a whole whack of nutty mothers who fit this category. So I pledge to relax and let my munchkin learn to eat with a spoon and go on the potty when he is good and ready. I will not spend my days worrying about it or having lessons (which I did consider for the feeding thing!) That said tomorrow we are off to the occupational therapist to have J's assessment done - LOL! Anyone want to join me in the relaxed mother group?

Meet Bruiser

The forehead continues to look like a war zone on J's face! The photos don't even do the colours real justice!

My kidney/bladder infection has gotten much better today! The antibiotics are working like a dream - and I also prayed my way through yesterday so I'm sure that helped too ;-)

Ouch

I have been having some lower back pain and cramping so I got the joy of going into the hospital to make sure I wasn't in preterm labor. All is well with baby but I do have a bladder and kidney infection. I have been half hunched over for most of the day. I think this is worse than labor. It just hurts all the time - and I feel like I have to pee 24/7!

I was sitting with my sister after my hospital visit when she starts talking about Celebrity Jeopardy - which is apparently on this week. I asked what stars they roped in to it. She listed some and then said "that guy from Law & Order SUV" Ry and I started laughing - which hurts like stink when you have a kidney infection! We asked what SUV stands for between gails of laughter - it took her a few minutes to realize her mistake. LOL!

I gotta head to bed as I feel horrible and just want to sleep till the pain is gone!

War Wound!

We went camping up at my parents property for the long weekend - it was beautiful and sunny but not relaxing - is going away to bear and cougar territory ever relaxing when there is a two year old around? We did see one bear - a black bear - a yearling across the street when we returned from our day trip to Ashcroft. Luckily it ran like stink up the mountain and away from us!
Jackson running - his new favourite activity on the deck!
Ry and J-man with a caboose in Ashcroft
Getting cozy by the fire!
Playing on the swing!

J-man decided in a fit of rage(daddy left the trailer - can you say hello two??) to bang his head against a wooden bench. Blood and bruising resulted. Auntie Ris just about passed out from the trauma - while I managed to remain calm ;-) After his bath - and the removal of several layers of dirt it didn't look so bad from the front but from the side he looks like a Klingon(from Star Trek)

Lastt a side profile of me at 26 weeks!

Bring The Rain by MercyMe

This song seems to be hitting a nerve with me this week. Nate's family has such amazing faith and love in the last 12 days. If I am honest I don't know if I would have. They have remained in God in an unwaivering steadfastness. They have been a amazing example to the rest of us. Please continue to pray for them.

Rejoicing in Loss

Today was Nate's funeral. It was amazing. The family held such strength and peace. Erik and Jamie played in the worship team , Erik and Doug stood with Kristy as she talked about her brother. Nate's dad gave the eulogy - He shared funny and touching stories about his son. My favourite being Nate as age 3 telling his mom he had figured out he could"think with his mouth closed!"

Ry and I cried through much of the service. The sense of loss was great today. Loss for a wife who lost not only her husband but the future she envisioned for herself, The loss of siblings for their brother. The loss of a mother and father for their son. And a loss of friends as we have lost someone that was a shining light in our dark world.

Yet through the loss was this amazing hope and peace. Nate has gone home to God. He is not suffering or in pain. He is in a blessed place. Today was a celebration of a life lived well.

After the funeral at the reception we met up with many old friends, shared stories of Nate and stories about our lives. We hugged Jamie and Erik and found out details of Elissa's recovery.

As hard as this last week has been, I think the hardest part is still to come. The funeral is over and life now starts again. Family and friends will go home, there are no more details to arrange. Now the family is left with life going on and they have to find a new"normal". Keep them in your prayers as they try and adjust to life with out Nate. Also pray for Elissa that her surgeries would go well and that she would heal quickly.

Sad Weekend

We received the sad news that our friend Nate was killed Friday. It is a surreal feeling. I am having a hard time really believe it. Today was the first day it began to sink in.

This weekend we have been at home, and feeling the loss of a friend but also the grief of a family who lost someone far too early and too young. In the midst of this I was reminded that 4 people in the car were spared and for that I thank God. I am praying for all of the Toews family.

Today the blogs of the family are back up. They have all written beautiful things. Rosanna, Nate's wife wrote a simple "I miss you Nate' with Psalm 23. It is beautiful and I started to cry. J-man came into the office and crawled up on my lap, gave me a hug and patted my back. Just like we do for him when he is hurting.

Nate may be gone from this earth but our memories of an amazing man of God remain. Nathan is in heaven. One day we'll see him again. I remember Nate singing Mercy Me "I Can Only Imagine" at our churches Easter service. Here are the lyrics to that song, Nate no longer has to imagine.

I can only imagine what it will be like, when I walk by Your side...
I can only imagine, what my eyes will see, when Your Face is before me!
I can only imagine. I can only imagine.

Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you, Jesus? Or in awe of You, be still?
Will I stand in Your presence, or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing 'Hallelujah!'? Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine! I can only imagine!

I can only imagine, when that day comes, when I find myself standing in the Son!
I can only imagine, when all I will do, is forever, forever worship You!
I can only imagine! I can only imagine!

Yeah! I can only imagine!

Yeah! I can only imagine!

I can only imagine! Yeah! I can only imagine!! Only imagine!!!
I can only imagine.

I can only imagine, when all I do is forever, forever worship You!
I can only imagine."

Towes family - we love you and are praying for you.

Whaaaaaaaaaat Did You Just Say?

Never I repeat NEVER tell a pregnant woman she looks anything but stunningly beautiful! We know you are lying but that is okay. Even if I look like a bloated puffer fish tell me I glow and that from behind you'd never know I was pregnant!

I realize that my butt looks like it was attacked by a rototiller, and my chin(s) are taking over my neck! I have eyes and can see that my ankles are now cankles - I DO NOT NEED TO BE REMINDED!

Lately I have had several comments from people saying "whoa, you're big", "You're butt is sure getting big!", and the sneaky insult " You're due when???" said with shocked surprise after I reveal the date! I haven't gained that much weight(17 pounds) - the midwife told me I was fine when I told her I thought I had gained too much, and I am measuring what I should!

So if you don't have anything nice to say - don't say anything at all!!!!!

Looking up at our sail!

Hot Office

I know I should post but I have no motivation! The weather has made our office sooooo hot - I have barely logged onto the computer let alone read anything!

Tomorrow we are going sailing - we bought J-man a life jacket. I think it will be a war to get it on as we tried it on in store and he FREAKED! How unusual!!!! We are hoping that we can distract him with things like birds and all the fun things to see. Worse case - we'll bring the DVD player! Cars can fix just about anything.

I still haven't got any pictures of Cake Fest 2007 aka my birthday party - as they are all on my sister and parents camera - no one thought to take a single picture on mine ;-) Hopefully soon we'll get our act together!

Baby G is making me nice and round. I even had a co-worker tell me my butt was big - she is lucky to alive - the little skinny butt! J-man finally picked up a fork tonight at dinner - and successfully got the food to his mouth! Even though he is two this is huge for him (more about that on his blog). To keep him motivated I did a rather funky dance in celebration - trust me when I say the only one laughing was J-man. If you want to read more about the fam - drop me an email and I'll invite you to his blog!

That's all I got tonight!

Happy Anniversary to me!

I can't believe it. I have been married for 9 years! I don't feel old enough to be able to say that. I only have one photo scanned - J-man is asleep and I really don't want to upset that(it seems all kids are having sleep issues these days!)

It was a rainy day - for our outdoor wedding! Since the yard where we were to be married was a soggy sponge we had to move the wedding inside. But as we had expected an outdoor wedding - we'd planted the flowers not ordered them. So planters were dragged in and hung from the light fixtures, the runner which was perfect for outdoors looked a little sad on carpet, and we made due with what we had.

I got to marry my best friend and fellow trouble maker. Everyone thought I would be suffering from cold feet or nervous. I wasn't - I knew I wanted to marry him. Ry is still my partner in crime and in the words of Phoebe(from Friends) - "He's my lobster!"

Love you Ry man.

I really am crazy!

I love hormones!

Normally I don't think of myself as a really emotional person - drama queen yes but not a train wreck waiting to happen.

Sadly pregnancy hormone have gotten the better of me! I went off today in a whole new way!

I had a meltdown of massive proportion today at work - I am embarrassed to go back! I had a few things said to me - that normally wouldn't bug me. But I was pissed(even though I knew it was no big deal). Then I had to deal with a cranky person - I was rude, and generally nasty to them. I deal with people all the time - some are nice - some are mean. Usually you roll your eyes and just go on. Today - the emotions took a ride on the crazy express. The person was so shocked that I was crying(and it really was a stupid thing). She started apologizing - I told her it wasn't her - I was pregnant, hungry and having a hormonal moment and I was sorry for being a cow! Then I fled the scene!

The lone male co-worker I have found me in the break room (I don't know if he'll ever be the same!) I was sobbing and laughing like a loon - I must have looked deranged! Then after trying to put myself back together I tried to go back to work only to have people ask me if everything was okay - so once again - I lost it! So everyone knew - Ej is NUTS! I still feel like crying even though I am fine! So take that as a warning - I may burst into tears at any given moment!

I need a weekend!

Brad Paisley-When I Get Where I'm Going

My Auntie Irene has had 2 stokes in the last week. Technically she isn't actually related to me but I am closer to her than I am to most of my 'real' family. She is 92 this year and an amazing woman. Her son called us today and told us that she is dying. Please pray for her and her family. Love you Irene!

Sorry sorry sorry

Yeah - I know - I keep saying that I'll get better and post more often yet I don't! Darn facebook!

Honestly between work and birthday parties around here I am slowly loosing my mind. I have literally been up till 12-1 am every day this week. Tonight I am making myself get to bed early!

I don't know if it is from the lack of sleep or baby brain but I am dumb as post right now! I told my sister to throw J-man's yogurt in the garbage. She looked at me strange and asked if I meant the fridge! I have called people by the wrong name, put things in the freezer - that were suppose to go in the fridge, driven across town only to have no idea where I was headed! I have started writing lists for everything including to eat meals as I've forgotten to eat lunch on days that I had to go to work. Suddenly at 1pm I get the shakes and very irritable - then it hits me I didn't eat lunch today!

I'm going to try taking some Omega 3's and getting some sleep! Otherwise I may forget my own name!

Tomorrow is my birthday party - and it looks like it will rain(nuts!!!) Hopefully I'll be back to show pictures and proof that I am still here!

The prego booty

If you have been pregnant then you know how big your butt can get. Last night while I pondered my ever enlarging shape I came to a conclusion.

The reason that a pregnant woman's butt looks so huge is a) the fat normally on the back of our butt moves to the side - thus making you hips look wider and you back side flat - a real nice look and b) We loose our waist so our butt has no where to end. From behind you are all bum! Start at the knees and work you way up to the shoulders. These two things result in a wide flat butt!

So there you have it - the reason my butt is looking the size of it's own planet!

Say it ain't so

I have heartburn! How can this be happening so soon! I am not happy about this! I still have over half of my pregnancy left! NO FAIR!

So I sit here - feeling like I swallowed burning embers for dinner rather than chicken!

Anyone got a tums???

Vacation Pics and what's new!

I have started posting vacation photos on J-man's blog-which is now private(if you want an invite email me) So far nothing too interesting - just the drive to Calgary. But tomorrow I may get off my butt and post some more.

I have posted a few new cards on my card blog - no details as I was too lazy to type them - but if you have any questions leave a comment and I'll fill in the blanks ;-)

I am addicted to facebook - hence the bad bloggeritis - sorry I will get better!

I will soon be turning 30 - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Be prepared for me complaining that I have accomplished none of my goals ;-)

I'll leave you with a pic of J-man and I at my nephews baseball game! It was windy and I was freezing. I was trying to use him as a blanket - he was not into that!!!

I am back

Sorry for the lack of updates - I don't know if anyone is even still reading ;-)

We were gone on holidays, and then came back to a full work week. I will try and post so pics from our trip although most will be on J-man's blog. His blog has now gone private so if you want an invite there just drop me a line at crazyenns@yahoo.ca

I have been trying to catch up with my blogger and facebook - going away for 9 days doesn't seem that long but wow have you all been busy posting! I am trying to get it all read - sorry if I don't leave comments.

Okay - time to run as J-man is screaming in his crib - I suppose that is what happens when he sleeps in till 10 am - bedtime needs to be later!

Holiday Time

No pictures as I have no computer to upload them too and I am too lazy to figure out how to do it online! We are enjoying a week of holidays with family - updates to come. We have shopped with Cousin Kerry till I nearly died - I am now broke ;-) We also went to the zoo. Saw a former fellow blogger there - of course I have never met her in real life and so didn't say "hi, you don't know me but I have read your blog!" It seemed a little too weird! It was also strange to know about a person yet they have no idea who you are! I felt like I had insider info ;-)

We survived the 12 hour drive - although I think my butt spread several inches from sitting so long! J-man did so well - after awhile he got a bored listless look in his eyes so we brought out the DVD player and he was happy happy happy. He did make it 9 hours without it so I thought a little TV would be okay!
