I am down for the count...hopefully for the last time!!! I got a sinus infection - so now I am on anti-biotics, nasal spray and have to use a Neti Pot daily. This better be the end of it because I am sick of being sick!!!
J-man has been quite funny the last few days. Since we are int hrows of potty training we have lots of bathroom moments. The best one today being J looking into the toilet as he pees and exclaiming quite proudly "bubos bubos" aka bubbles! So now he checks every time for bubbles.. So cute!
Baby G is being super cute these days too - today she sat on her own for a few seconds - grinning from ear to ear that she had managed to figure it out! She also discovered her toes yesterday and spent a lot of time grabbing them and then starting at them in pure shock! You could see the question in her mind "What are these cool things?"
We are going to take it easy this weekend - maybe head to the beach to run on the sand in the afternoon - weather permitting.
For any of my fellow method lovers - it is on sale at Canadian Tire right now! The omop is 25% off and I think most of the other products are marked down - I plan to stock up!!! I bought the omop earlier this week(so will be going back for a price check!) and I LOVE IT! So much better than a swiffer with the added bonus on not putting petroleum clothes(that is what swiffer clothes are made of) into landfills! I have been hunting in many places for method - always looking for where I can find it and at what price. So far I have found a good selection at Canadian Tire, Shoppers Drug Mart, Safeway(although really expensive there), and London Drugs. Of course the best place to get them would be Target - and they have the whole line unlike up here. Once my passport is renewed I will be heading to a Target to stock pile my favorites!
I am sure most moms have heard by now about BPA bottles being banned - in case you didn't know - London Drugs will take anything they sold(as in if they used to carry it) and give you a refund card. You do not have to have bought it there and you don't need a receipt. They have assigned a value to items - I got $145 back from my stash of Avent bottles/breast pump/sterilizer. London Drugs also carries Born Free bottles(which I was already using and love). So if there are any left you can stock up using the money you get back. A shout out to London Drugs for removing all the BPA items from the shelves rather than selling them at a discounted price which apparently some stores are doing!
Phew, what started out as a short post has gotten quite long so I will leave you with that for now ;-)

Happy Monday
On Friday J-man brought me his shoes, his coat and finally the diaper bag - and then told me in J speak that it was time to get out of the house. Poor kid - he was desperate to look at something besides these 4 walls and his mom!
We are in the throws of potty training - it took us a few weeks to even get him to be willing to sit on the toilet. Now that he'll do that we have been in underwear all day for 2 days. The big problems is if I don't hover ;-) He doesn't always empty his bladder so he'll need to go 10 minutes after we just went, or if he has had juice and then it flies through him and we end up going through 3 pairs of pants in 20 minutes. Eventually he'll get it - I am not stressed about it at all. I think as a parent to a developmentally delayed child there are so many things that we are working on that peeing in the potty is just another on the list.
He is doing pretty well considering all the therapists he's seen lately. Most have gone pretty well - except the physiotherapist. I didn't like her - she was cold and seemed to be a big cloud of negativity. When I got the report one of the things she noted was that J had "quite a high squeaky voice" - What??? He is almost 3 - he sounds like every other 3 year old to me - loud and when excited a bit high pitched ;-) And what on earth could that have to do with his walking??? Last time I check that was not related. For those who have met J - does he have a squeaky voice and I just never noticed? Anyway that was a bit insulting to me - and when you read all the reports I get saying how behind he is for his age etc. you develop a thick skin for other's saying your perfect baby isn't perfect(at least to them).
Tomorrow is earth day! So turn out some lights, recycle and eat organic! If I get a chance I will post some of my favorite earth friendly products(bum genius cloth diapers over on G make the cut!)

On the mend
Yikes! We are finally on the mend around here!
Ry is back at work, J-man is off puffers and getting back to normal 2 year old behavior - although this cough is really hanging on. I am still feeling blah - but I think that is due to no sleep and being home for the past 11 days! Baby G has finally started to get better. She is now on puffers for her lungs, antibiotics for the ear infection, and Tylenol for the teething!
Both kids are finally eating food - they went a few days not consuming much. i am scared to get on a scale and see how much laying around the house for almost 2 weeks has added back on to me ;-)
On another note - I am getting so many spam comments so I may have to turn on the verification - which is annoying esp. since I have moderated comments already. Note to spammers - I will not post you're lame comments!!
Okay I better go check on my kiddos - it may be baby G nap time...aka J-man movie and mommy break time(shower or nap????)

Seriously??
I had my finger inside G's mouth today(she chews on anything) and low and behold the girl has a tooth trying to pop through. Poor girl, coughing, congested, runny nose and now a tooth! J didn't get teeth until 8 months so I was not expecting this yet - even though I had noticed a bump under her gums this week.
J is feeling better today - we even had a few tantrums to prove it ;-) Ry & I are still in the middle of it so hopefully we'll get a good night sleep tonight so we can feel better and enjoy the weekend!

Sniffle, sniffle
Yup - I am officially sick now - arrrr!
Baby G is still getting worse but J-man is getting better aka CRANKY!
I have moments where I think I am getting better and then I crash - like right now - the runny nose has hit and I am not happy about it ;-)
Ry has it too now!
I haven't left me home in 4, yes, 4 days! I am starting to get a strange twitch! I am keeping us home to keep our germs to ourselves. Due to the bad weather and feeling like dirt I haven't even gotten a walk in. Oh woe is me eh????
Tomorrow I have the HUGE goal of showering and getting dressed - I got dressed today but the hair is yanked back with a headband and lets just say my 'natural radiance' is not so great! I told Ry when he got home(picture me sitting on the couch looking oh so lovely with J (nose running) and G (crying)) that I had gotten dressed just for him - he was suitable impressed ;-)

Hack, cough, wheeze
Well the dreaded winter cold that everyone and their mother had; has now hit our home. J-man started the coughing, then I started feeling yucky, although not coughing, and now G is coughing. It just doesn't seems right to hear such a big cough from such little bodies!
Today we accomplished lots ;-) We all got dressed! Phew, if we keep being this crazy we might even make a bed by the end of the week!
J has been waking at night from the coughing - and then being up with Ry or myself for a good hour! G has slept pretty well at least well for her. She still doesn't sleep through the night! In an effort to bring back some of our sanity in this household Ry ad I alternate nights. One night he gets up with the kids and then next night I get up. Tonight is his night - YEE HAW! It has actually worked really well even though my mother's ears alert me to them waking(I roll over and boot Ry out of bed if he doesn't get up). On his nights to sleep he somehow can block it all out and sleep right through. Last night he has no recollection of J and I being up for an hour(and J was hollering at first).
Other than being dependent on Children's Advil, Dimetap(sp??) and caffeine- there isn't much happening. I am going stir crazy from 3 days of being home - I was going to go to Fabricland and check out the new bamboo fabric they have but they closed at 5:30 today ;-( So now I am debating going to Superstore just so I can get out!!

Losing the battle???
J: RO-RO (roaring like Baby Jaguar- from Go Diego Go, at the top of his lungs)
Me : J stop yelling
J: RO-RO (still screaming)
Me: J, STOP yelling
J: RO-RO
Me : STOP YELLING
hmmmm - I think I just lost that battle ;-)

Moments from this week...
Laughter - that seems to be the main thing happening here this week - which is much nicer than last week!
Moment #1
I made coffee cake when Lisa came this week(we always eat when we get together - after all what is a play date without a muffin or a cookie???). That evening Ry had a piece. Right before he put the forkful into his mouth he asked me, "How do you get the coffee in the cake?" Huh??? Is he serious was my first thought - then I couldn't hold it in and through hoots of laughter tried to explain that coffee cake doesn't have coffee in it - you usually eat it with coffee. Feeling rather embarrassed he pointed out that it was a valid question after all - chocolate cake has chocolate in it, vanilla cake has vanilla in it etc. Good point! Why is it coffee cake if there is no coffee in it?
Moment #2
I left Baby G on the floor when I left the living room - if I am lucky J-man doesn't notice I have left the room and can go to the bathroom ALONE!!! Wha Hoo! Anyway, I come back and don't see her. She had rolled herself under the coffee table and was sucking on the leg! Crazy girl!
Moment #3
My 5 month old baby girl weighs 17 lbs 4 oz - she gained almost 2 lbs and grew 2 cm in 4 weeks. J-man was 18 lbs at 10 months. The nurse asked me if she was on solids - nope just breast milk and formula. My boobs have pretty much given up the ghost as far as producing much milk. But I am still trying. Dumb thyroid gland!!!
Moment #4
Ryken came to play this week - and now J chants Y-can, Y-can? as he walks through the house! So cute - friends for life ;-)
Moment #5
Baby G has found her voice and discovered she can scream - oh the joy! Actually it is still kind of cute to hear her squealing away. It only happens when she thinks something in very funny - like J-man doing anything. Or if she is peeved about something - like being left alone, or in her crib longer than she deems necessary ;-)
Moment #6
Someone stole my credit card info - lucky me! And bought themselves an airline ticket. Ummmm don't you have to give your name to do that? You can't fly unless you have the correct ID. At least I don't think you can - so I hope the card company nails the loser!
Now it is the weekend - J-man and I are going to the open house at his preschool (he starts in September). Then family photos with my parents, followed by family dinner. Then on Sunday we are finally having Easter with Ry's family. A rather busy few days!
